When he dropped his "Music for Earthworms" EP that was only pressed on CDR's at the time, I was lucky enough to get an "original" CDR version of it. I did not know at that time he would be as great as he is today. I loved him back then, but I love him more now. To see his progression throughout the years has been amazing. Its like fine wine. Not many artists can do it.
In 2007? I literally stumbled into Aesop at the PX in Ballad Iraq (logistics contractor) while looking for anything new... The name, "Aesop Rock"; the art on None Shall Pass, the titles... No clue who/what it was. Bought the CD on the spot. Listened to the entire albume on loop for a few days. On my next R&R, I scoured the Internet and any music store I came across for more. Aes is profoundly poignant and damned near everything he's done (and collaboration) is in my permanent rotation. Yeah, The Uncluded, too.
