  • Norris Cove is a tiny cove near the Mackay Bridge on the Dartmouth side. According to the Nova Scotia Archives, it was formerly Turple's Cove and had several buildings, cottages and houses. Wherever there was human activity, the chances go up significantly of finding something cool!
This was my second time exploring the cove and I discovered lots of interesting bottles including a pickle jar from 1934, part of a crock bottle and an intact, blue "Genuine Phillips Milk of Magnesia" bottle.

I used to live in Shannon Park and spent a lot of time at the (now gone) jetty and crabhunting on that little spit of land that's visible at low tide in the now-Norris Cove. I haven't seen it since before they tore all the buildings down. If I can bring myself to go there again, it would be super cool to dive there and see what I could find where the jetty used to be! Probably no shortage of fishing lures from the times folks "caught Nova Scotia". lol

That is so interesting. Yes I found lots of areas where bottles seemed to be grouped together.
