- Mary Wilson brought her style to our little town in 2000. She graciously granted permission for we volunteers at the local cable TV station to record her performance for distribution. With her passing this past week we wanted to pay tribute to her talent and graciousness by sharing the performance with you, too. All-volunteer TV productions were a big thing for us back then but for Mary Wilson to give her permission was VERY BIG for us. A big thank you to her staff on site and in office.

It thrilled me utmost to know that I'd actually 'reached' YOU and you were able to appreciate my utterings.... authentically from the heart! (And give me chance to correct the mis-types. ) 😏I only regret that I wasn't ON that stage, as I AM a used to be 'on call' bg singer for Ma Wilson too. Only for this, promoters wanted her to work with 'girls' to 'save' the SUPREMES' IMAGE because of what 'else' went on that year. But I AM on the dvd video from Vegas... and on a few others. So, it did me soooo much good to run into THIS one again, and see all my Beloved Family.... ALL of them..... HER Band, And the singers! Mary Wilson was always much better live than on studio recordings which not always captured fully the sensual beauty of her voice. Let alone her undeniable stage presence. Or her stunningly beautiful face that has to be seen to be believed!
With the tough training at Motown's artist development classes to rely on, the lady was a top-notch entertainer, but strangely she always downplayed her qualities as a singer. Well, Miss Wilson, you were severely wrong, as is evidenced here! Love you Mary, you were so underrated!!!

WOW! PURE CLASS. "Coming Out Of The Dark" was SO perfect for her. And what about those horns!!!!! The arranger and musicians really outdid themselves! I LOVED the revisiting and newly envisioned arrangement especially on "My World Is Empty"! Truly amazing. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!

Wow! So great to see this show. Thanks for posting. Awesome production job! I was always a Motown and Supremes fan. I read her books and saw her in Beehive - then, I saw this version of her show and I was a big Mary Wilson fan and supporter. Such presence, talent, energy, soul, sassy humor and yet so down to earth. Pure fun seeing her perform. Great and powerful voice (she has the best vocal control and mic technique of anyone!) She truly "paints" with her voice when she sings. Her band and background singers are total pros and true to the Motown sound. Mary's vocal soul style really adds to the old songs. I saw her 6xs. The last in October 2019. Every show, a standing O! Even at 76?? she left the crowd cheering on their feet! "Boo hoo, for you, to tears, the fears". Thanks for sharing. @@skiplanham3733 Thank you! I have had a condensed/edited audio version for over 15 years. A fan sent it to me many years ago...I had been told it was a sound board recording. I think I was one of the lucky few that had it.

Mary Wilson was such a great lady....I was lucky enough to meet her several times over the
years....starting from the days they were the No Hit Supremes. R.I.P.
Very earthy and in the tradition of an authentic Supremes vibe. Mary rose to the occasion and made it happen in a real and very heartfelt lovely performance. The 2 ladies performing with her really captured the authentic essence, sound and style of the true Supremes. Diana should be impressed.

Mary has always indicated that the fabulous Freda Payne was her best friend and the feelings are mutual. Freda didn’t record for Motown but she was definitely a member of the Motown family. Freda, “Flo and Mary couldn’t do what Diana did for the Supremes, Berry chose the It factor, he was right. Mary in order to rest in peace you gotta have a pure heart, sincerely rest in peace.

Mary Wilson must have gotten permission to sing the Supremes songs. Because Berry Gordy owns the rights to them.
Anyone can sing those songs. They just can’t record them for release.
Every time a song is performed on stage, the writers get paid.

During Diana’s first pregnancy Flo forwarded a care package of baby clothes to her, Mary knew that the mailing address was incorrect but she didn’t tell Flo, subsequently the package was returned.
It’s a mystery and I’m hoping that an authority or historian will highlight the relationship between Diana and Flo, fasten your seat belt, Flo was very strong willed and opinionated just as Diana but they actually liked each other, however sweet innocent and the most physically beautiful supreme manipulated the relationship to Flo’s detriments.
She should have lowered the keys.

And why! do female artists wear tops on stage where the shoulder straps fall, if I was a female artist looking for stage wear, I would test drive it and see if the straps would fall, and its not as though Mary needed the straps.
Love Mary but where is her own material? Its always Supreme's stuff, Her efforts are all bordering on karaoke.
Did they fix her ear piece? That was so distracting.
Disappointing. Why didn't she do any of the post-Diana Supremes songs in which she sang lead or co-lead? Why not Floy Joy? Or one of her fine leads on Touch, You're What's Missing In My Life, or Don't Let My Teardrops Bother You? Why was her only post-Diana Supremes song the minor hit Bad Weather? River Deep Mountain High or Up the Ladder to the Roof would have been better choices.

Must be a weird feeling when you suddenly find yourself sitting through a vid of a singer you don't like and even commenting on it. Did that happen to you before? Regularly or only once in a while? Maybe there's no need to take action yet, but still I would strongly recommand to you - watch it! Just to be on the safe side! All the best
