I remember one time I was playing drums and I was suddenly able to play a very fast and complex song I was listening to. All the times prior to playing it I was forcing each note from memory, but this time I was relaxed and I truly felt the music passing through me. In an effortless way (like I wasn't even present in my own body) I was able to play these swing parts perfectly, and seeing Eloy now I realize it's the only way to play those parts at all. In those few minutes I was able to play like that, it was a euphoric experience to tell the truth and once it was over I actually had to take a minute to process what happened. That only ever happened ONCE to me and I've never been able to replicate that feeling or performance since then. It was like my mind had placed the last of 10,000 puzzle pieces and it unlocked something inside me that I can't explain. Thinking about again I can't even comprehend what my own body did, the actions and thoughts I had at the time don't make sense to me. Anyway this just reminded me of that. Maybe someday I'll learn to channel that energy like Eloy!
Brian, hopefully you believe in the Lord. “No eye has seen, not ear heard, nor has it entered the heart of man, the glorious things the Father has waiting for those of us who love the Lord.” Can you even imagine how good some of the angels are on kits we would be just sitting there with our jaw laying on the floor..(?) It’s all waiting for us someday (soon!) My cousin turned me onto Eloy almost a couple years ago now and I just marvel and thoroughly enjoy watching & feeling what he puts out, lays down, pounds, thumps, grinds, grooves, runs thuddingly (haha!, just made that word up).. he’s may new favorite.
