    I am so freaking excited to use this. Thank you so much for making a real tutorial that shows many different aspects of our hobby.

    I just received some WS rock molds and will use your video as inspiration. Thanks!

    Something that I've been messing around with for rock hills is foamcore and foamboard, layering it to build the rock faces gives you the more visible striation appearance if you want that look. You can work thinned patching plaster (I use the stuff from the Dollar Tree with a wet brush) to add more to it after texturing it by rolling over a lava rock. Adding a little bit of mixed sized sand to flat areas can create some interesting ways to complete the look.

      That sounds like an awesome way to make some desert terrain, might need to give that a try. Thanks!

    Great job Baron! The hill looks very realistic and I agree that the Woodland Scenics rocks are certainly a great product. It is always good to see a tutorial from you and this was very helpful to watch as I learned a lot from it.

    hello buddy, when you mold the stone, you made from what? its white cement or what?

    • @RedBeardBaron
      @RedBeardBaron  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just regular plaster of paris from a DIY store...no need for dental plaster or the hobby specific stuff.

    Where do you recommend getting bulk static grass in the USA? It seems to cost its weight in gold and come in tiny quantities from many suppliers. Great work on the build!

      I really like the mini natur that is sold by scenic express a bit more expensive than woodland Scenic’s but much higher quality.

    Awesome hill! Always a joy to see a new vid from you pop up.
    How far does a pound of celluclay go? Is 5 pounds overkill for an occasional terrain maker?

    • @RedBeardBaron
      @RedBeardBaron  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That will last you quite awhile...I used probably 1/8th of a pound here. But if you plan on making a massive terrain peice or board it can go pretty quick.

    Great build video. I noticed when you were applying the static grass, you were wearing gloves...why? Speaking of static grass, have you've done a video on its application? And...speaking of Dux, whens the next campaign video coming out. Good to hear about the Patreon deal, will check it out. Take care.

    • @RedBeardBaron

      Thanks! I wear rubberized gloves when I use my cheap static grass applicator since it has a tendency to shock me constantly haha. Hopefully, I'll get that dux video out in the next two weeks, I have it shot but editing is taking quite awhile. I do have a static grass video...it is quite old but I use pretty much the same techniques I've just graduated to using longer grasses(6mm-12mm) in most circumstances. th-cam.com/video/z2JTJcsujDc/w-d-xo.html

      @@RedBeardBaron Tracking...I made my own static grass applicator. Initially worked like a champ, but as of late, not very effective. Not sure the problem. May need a new negative thingy part. Will check out your video...I think I may have watch it before, not sure.. Looking forward to the Dux video. Thoughts on the new TFLs coming release of Infamy Infamy game?

      Haha I promise it is coming. Already shot it, just editing it now. Haven't done a proper battle report before (My first videos are crap so I don't count those) and it takes a lot longer than expected. It will hopefully be out in the next two weeks.
