Apparently he died pretty much instantly after a single tooth flew off a large circular saw, striking him directly in the heart. And usually less than 40$ per blade it was a deal. Especially when they ran upwards of 150$ and you only made 500 a week. And that was insane good money. We still send of blades occasionally but they are custom. 16” and bigger. Largest blade is just over 7’
Thats right when you spend 500 on a blade its better to spend 50 on repair and sharpen rather than buy a new one. You can resharpening 50 times or more

The tooth are treated with a special progress which makes it more resistable to forces, once you heat it up again the structure changes and wear will be way bigger

1. Its a video so its hard to tell the temperature 2. If it is indeed hot enough, it might be hot welded fine 3. Some steels are air hardening so this is good enough for its purpose In that case i sont see what's wrong with it

Cut concrete for 18 years we'd replace them on core drill bits all the time, but you'd have to do all of them. They would hold up just like the new ones. We didn't do it with the wall saw or slab saw blades. With concrete blades or core drill bits you wouldn't just replace one unless it was like new because of clearance
I'm a solid surface fabricator, the blades we use are worth rebuilding and sharpening. Been using the same guy for 15+ years and not one issue in all that time.. of course the teeth count and size of blades we use can't be found at your local hardware store

I would think it would? But I could be mistaken. In my experience with saw blades, once they are used up, you just discard them and get another one.
Carbide tips. I used to use these blades in forging plant. The operator has to be skilled to cut different metals. I've myself have taken every tooth off, but also have cut steel with a few chipped teeth. I destroyed a few when learning. 😅
Many men today, have no idea that saw blades can be sharpened and even repaired! Saw blades are not cheap! Just an 8 or 10 inch blade can be $60-$80 for a "Good One"
This is carbide tip brassing process. For the circular slitting saw. I know this work , done it when I was in the Factory. ( Tool Room) Good information.
At my work we use these type of blades to cut aluminum that’s been cast into vehicle knuckles they are extremely expensive but will last a long time before having to be rebuilt
we do something similar for cutters used to drill into pipelines its worth repair due to all the considerations that go into machine a Pipe cutter that isnear perfect circle. We could have varied form of teeth from steel carbide and concrete.

This is induction brazing. The filler metal is dissimilar to the base metal or the metal being bonded.
