I just purchased my first Omega, Exactly the same model, a 1969 Geneve, I know what you mean about the sun hitting it, it's almost a mix between gold and pearl glow. I agree I am now a vintage fan!

A lovely example of an Omega vintage classic and I totally agree about the sunburst dials and the way they catch the light. My own Geneve ref 166.070 cal 565 has a white/silver dial and looks fantastic from all angles. I personally think that the Geneve is becoming more collectable as people realise what some of us already knew, an Omega classic.

I have mine from 1973..my then girlfriend (now wife) bought it for me...it took a whole month’s salary - £33 (she was a student nurse). I still have it, complete with box and papers. You have encouraged me to get it serviced and wear it (for the first time since 1992)

Bit of a long-shot, but do you happen to know the reference for this one? I bought exactly this watch today (fell for it much the same way that you did), but I don't have much info about it.

Unfortunately not. How you find the information. Congratulations on your new watch.

I have a question. What price should you be paying for one of these? Specifically the (Geneve Automatic)

It really depends on the condition and model. A ruff example around $200. From there the prices can go up fast. I have seen some great ones in and around the $500.00 area. Also a box and papers can get really expensive (in the thousands). Those however are hard to find.
