What do you think was the coolest bit of tech from this race? Let us know 👇
that Gamux bike 🤤
Tacky Chan
Gamux. I went to their website and visited their TH-cam page and was a bit disappointed though.
Some links were broken and basically a dead channel that hasn’t posted in a year. Most of their videos had 100 views or so. Not a good sign of a well ran company.
Loving the motor cross style of suspension & drivetrain in the rear! 😃
Dh is literally the F1 of mtb
Closer & closer to Moto GP style of suspension drivetrain! :)
It’s like looking at concept cars but bikes instead 😮
The "I HAVE TO GO" answer killed me... 😂
Love the Tacky Chans, hope they bring it into Production, promising Pattern on there🤞
Giant Glory should come with a HOLE in the frame for some storage. See what i did there?
😆
The new Pivot lugged carbon frame reminds me of my old Specialized Allez Epic (circa 1991). I also recall that frame lacked torsional rigidity making it feel dead on climbs. So that makes me wonder if Pivot is trying to remove some rigidity from their frame and make it more forgiving in some situations? I would reference the decades old theory in the moto world about steel frames being more forgiving than aluminum with respect to MX and SX. Just a thought...Maybe further backed up by the fact that the very first upgrade they made was to design a more rigid chain guide which appeared in BK's vlog at Lenzerheide.
2:40 OMFG!!!! 😂
That was the best
Looks sick! Can't wait to see next video!
That new Pivot is gorgeous
#askgmbntech - looks like Gamux didn't get the note from Schwalbe on the new tyres....everyone else had to black the name out! Tacky Chan! (Interesting name....)
Commencal has spoiled it before. Twice.
My 2005 Jekyll 1000 has suspension controls in the handle bars for locking out the front lefty
Loved it mate!
Cheers dude 👊
Dream bikes😢
Yes! All SO nice 🤤
Quick point of clarification - Telemetry is transmitting data remotely in real time (think space travel or F1) where the techs can analyze multiple sensors in real time. Seems like the MTB industry is conflating this term with "onboard data collection" which is the act of collecting data (in this case suspension) and offloading the collected data after the fact to a computer.
Yup & this misconception occurs frequently in the automotive industry too
New DH Pivot frame reminds me of the Old GT Lobo.
great interviewer !
Cheers man much appreciated
some exciting new tech in the far horizon,
M old enough to remember the Giant paint job. Pepperidge Farm remembers
This tech insides are the best
Why no coverage of the new Pole prototype DH bike?
#askgmbntech what’s the difference in performance and ride feel of a progressive frame with a linear coil shock versus a linear frame single pivot running the new prog coils from Cane and MRP?
Progressive coil is like a volume spacer in air. Pretty simple
Pull shock on the specialized? Or just some new linkage?
Looks like a rocker around the bb and a pull link from bottom of chain stay to rocker under bb.
Nice marketing creating a mystery.
Wow nice bike
Why is no one mentioning the new Saint cranks?
Because they are some other cranks with a saint sticker on it for sponsor correctness ;)
@@Finnspin_unicycles for real? That sucks. They look way more modern like that.
Specialized are very hidden 😅
The vandal in me would have me just take a look anyway 😂 what are they going to do? Call security? 😂 As if
Black list you from doing any media stuff ever again. Word would soon get round and most other teams would do the same
Your reputation would be done for. Now if you found someone random to do it lol..
Changeable BB shell...
So do you want pressfit today or... nevermind 😂
Did the Atherton’s not patent their lugged carbon frames?
i think it’s been done a few times before then, i know one of the first carbon bikes trek made was like that, carbon tubes leading into metal bits.
a lot of manufacturers have used lugged carbon frames before.... even colnago on their road stuff.
Yeah even old road bikes have used this kind of method so it’s been around a while just not quite as high tech
Adding to this, theres a video on one of the sister channels of a bike with this concept but out of wood! EXPENSIVE ONE
Mondraker is the best
If you are going to talk about "Telemetry" please make sure you're getting your terminology correct. Telemetry is the real time broadcasting of dynamic data, data logging is the capture of dynamic data for later download and analysis. It may sound pedantic, but in many forms of motorsport Telemetry is banned and data logging is not so the terminology is important. I would suspect that DH mtb is data logging, not telemetry.
Ffs, you pedal it, it’s a bicycle, how f🤬ing secret can it be😂
To complicated. Remember when downhill was about the riders.😅
Riders? nah, we don't need them :)
It still is, a first year pro on a production bike was faster than all that fancy stuff
Ong
Telemetry, electronic shocks/forks, ABS on the horizon. Where does it end. Less e-bikes please. Eventually all they are going to be missing is a motor.
