@dorothybeischer7668 Definitely. Four years ago, I was looking for a job and this old guy conducted exactly that type of interview. He wasn't fooling me and don't let yourself be fooled either. You are entitled to work for a legitimate and real employer.

It is so sad how we have to always be on alert for everything these days. Thanks for the great tips.
I got "excited" about the money, and when you get excited, you miss the details. They did a "chat" and apparently were copying all the information from a legitimate website. After considering they offered me a job WITHOUT a video interview, I knew it was a scam and the next day played along and came into the chat at the time they requested. (They too were going to send me a check). I received an email with several typos from the "senior management" and they wanted me to sign and return the acceptance letter. That is when I said "Stacey, Stephen or whatever your name is, you are not getting my signature today. Shame on you!!!"
I truly hope these losers reap what they sow and their computers get a virus. It is so low-down and dirty to play these awful games with people who are just looking for a job!

Also a job that says they will send you a check to purchase equipment for the job . I mean seriously do not fall for that crap what company doesn’t provide the equipment in advance.
4th red flag is when they ask you to pay security deposit for the work youre gonna do 😅

Yup, be careful out there everyone... I just got an email today saying my email information was found on the dark web from my identity protection company that I am with.
After I started applying for remote only jobs I started to get a bunch of random texts, calls and emails from scammers.

Literally whenever people ask me my nationality I just tell them I'm British because idiots like these give us a horrendous reputation, not to also mention they scam other indians too. Another red flag is when they want to do an interview through a messenger app like Signal and not through, say Zoom or Teams. Whenever I get the "interview" email and it says to download Signal, that is an automatic nope for me.
I'm in a predicament wondering if a job is a scam or not and I can't figure it out. Do you know anything about Team. I was told to download the app and do the interview through messaging on the app. I figured team was legit. I didn't get any major spelling issues but they want to hire with no experience saying they will train. By the end they said I was excepted and that I had passed the interview. I asked the next step and they said to give my information. I couldn't give it cause I don't know if it's fake or not. Help!

A chat position for a company asked for the social security and I was like nope, I am out, I already experience a scam and thanks God I could get my money back but it was an awful experience, now I am very careful.
Oh yes! Scammers know everyone is looking for chat/data entry, so a lot of those are scams. There are actually not a ton of those jobs, so that's why I made a video about the real ones! Glad you got your money back!!

What's crazy is I've called the companies they're pretending to be from the website on Google, and they don't even reply. If someone told me scammers were pretending to be my company, I'd be all over that!

Excellent video! I wish I had this information a few years ago. I had to figure this out on my own. Thankful, it didn't smell right. Please repost this video every few months. It's also worth adding the scam for secret shopper where they send you a check for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollard in a USPS flat rate envelope to deposit to cover expenses and fee for being a secret shopper.

Another annoying thing I've noticed, sometimes Staffing agencies write job postings that look really lazy or scammy. The names of these legit companies sound fake sometimes, too. All this caution slows down my job search so so much!

If it sounds too good to be true often it is, and yes I have caught a lot of scams from bad grammar. A lot of scams are from People who speak English as a second language (no offense intended) and are coming from different regions and countries.

I’m new to online remote jobs and I’m sure I just got scammed. I thought the whole thing seemed quite sophisticated but when I started digging for info, a lot of red flags just popped up. I’m still looking for something suitable but I don’t want to be scammed again. Thanks for this video.

Additionally, another red flag is when the company is very dodgy about saying the company name. They avoid answering the question when directly asked.

I got a job offer from an outlook email. They gave me an assessment date to see if I'm a good fit but never gave me a formal interview then they wanted me to give my contact info to send me a check for $4150. They said it was so that I could buy the required equipment and materials and part of it is supposed to be my first weeks pay. I'm so glad I saw this video bc it stopped me from responding to that last email from that person.

Yes, it happened to me too. The thing about it they had asked in the questionnaire if I had the things they they wanted to send me a check to purchase, items which I already stated I have.
Exactly same thing happened to me and i cashed the fake check but luckily my bank stoped it
I may be currently falling victim of such a scam and man it is really elaborate and so far theres alot of negative flags but also I've not given them any serious details like SSN yet..
I did just call their actual phone number to ask HR about the authenticity of the job offer

Thank you!!! I just got off phone with a scam company-alledged name of HR "Nicole Sway". Offering repackaging reshipping job for 600 weekly plus bonus of $40 per box shipped on time. Plus a hundred dollar bonus if I complete my paperwork within 3 hours----tried researching and couldn't find any other info. I have been applying for a lot of jobs so had to do my research on that offer. You video hits the nail on the head. Thank you. (Side note)-(I didn't complete any paperwork).

I just got one from USHA careers saying they reviewed my resume on monster and that they wanted me to interview for their sales executive or account manager position. First red flag for me? My experience is in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance; Welding; and Concrete Batching. How in the fuck am I a match for either of those positions? I mean, I think I could do either of those roles really well, but based on my resume, why the hell would they think I could?

I remember once being offered an editor position. I noticed alot of type-o's and I pointed it out to the "recruiter." They said "thats why we need an editor." 😕

I had two different companies do interview over chat, and they were going to send me a check to buy equipment. I got out before I gave them any money. The email from HR was misspelled!
As soon as you submit that fake check to your account its a wrap. Your account will get frozen due to fraud.

I was just contacted by a scam company today. It was pretty obvious that they were a scam because of several different things, but they really tried to get me.
Or when they want bitcoin for equipment. They say the equipment is free. Or if its a Facebook post. That seems strange.

I saw a job post that requires you to email your cv to the recruiter, when doing so the recruiter told me something like I was shortlisted and needed to fill in a worker oath form that he sent through Gmail. And I needed to have a particular certificate and because I don't have one He could recommend me a short course that I'll pay for myself to receive a certificate and be able to work with them and they will repay thereof.

I passed the typing test for a typing job n now it’s time for the processing fee for the background which is only $20. And they asked after I took the test. So it doesn’t seem too scammy.
Also, some temp agency jobs for warehouse take drug testing n background testing out our first checks anyways 🤷🏾♂️ so it seems legit .

Assistance with getting your home office setup or an internet stipend is fine. That's a perk some companies offer to help offset costs.
