Had mine for about 2 ears now, got a NT version, its so heavy I only play it sitting down but what a tone its huge even in split mode it still kicks arse, I mainly bought it because it looks so good! that headstock is the best in the business, The tones on the volume pot are simply amazing, highly recommend.
I just found a 2001 ESP catalog when packing up to move. Love the old ESP catalogs.

So true on choices and taste. I wanted a shredding Floyd Rose equipped guitar with passive pups. I am a left handed player , so, it was between the MIM guitars from EVH and Charvel. Schecter was also close. This one was just my style.

The best part of these is hearing Rob Arnold playing guitar in 2021. Mahogany is so weird. I have one Tele in mahogany that is featherlight, but my Jim Root Tele weighs the most of all my guitars. My old LTD Viper 400 weighed a ton too. Others I picked up were substantially less.

Classics, hot rods, cheap everyday beaters, you can customise them however you want, and they make great sounds!

I have the hard tail and baffles me that the volute is intended same place as the first fret. Makes playing the first fret a pain in the ass

So I think it was a week ago, I caught your video on the Artic ESP.. and my jaws dropped... Today, 3/28... I'm currently and anxiously awaiting my ESP-LTD M-1000NT See-Thru Purple!!!! I've never been so anxious for a guitar before.. and Rob you played a huge part of that decision. I had a budget, I could of had any guitar in that price range.. I never touched an ESP before.. and now I own one... if fed ex would hurry the hell up!! Haha.. thanks Rob. You definitely are someone I look up too musically and love hearing your advice!

Seems like a very versatile guitar. You can certainly hear the weight in the tone, if that makes any sense. I had that same ESP book you showed but from 2005 or 2006. Thats what made me buy my KH-202.

Maybe a question for the next EYL episode: How is the neck profile/shape on this guitar & what is your prefered neck profile and/or for your RA's? Thin or thick, C-shaped or D-shaped, matte, glossy or natural finish, etc.? 🤘🎸
You know Oli, I actually haven't studied or paid enough attention to necks to be able to answer your question with any authority. The one thing I can say though, is that I prefer the feel of a natural satin neck, rather than a painted neck, like this guitar has. I think the natural satin feels faster, because there's less friction. And sometimes a painted neck feels sticky or clammy to me if my hands are a little sweaty or whatever. 🎸

Do you still have that ESP you played on the impossability of reason tour (dark red w/custom inlay) you showed it off to me @ harpo's in detroit I was the guy mark brought up cause he could hear me over the monitors we caught both MI shows good times.
Yes! That's my ESP Custom shop RA-3. And it's actually see-thru black, but it appears red under certain lighting conditions!

sounds great. i have a jackson js22 with a JB in the bridge and im looking to upgrade my metal style guitar and am considering this because i love Teles but am kinda worried it might sound exactly the same as the Jackeon cause of the JB

Been staring at the Blue 2020+ production M1 '87 custom with the single JB...mainly since OG 90s M-1 esps are getting crazys expensive...things are nicely priced and as close to your RA-600 as we can get basically iirc minus the emg 81

At the start was a new case, but when opening it, it's really old one. :D hehe
Good eye! The guitar is a friends, who didn't get a case with it. So I had to try and find find one to make the shot work, and I had a hard time finding one that would fit that body shape!

I dont know if you'v notist this but since you had you signature model ESP has gone to a smaller neck. Not thickness wise but how wide the fingerboard is.
You signature model had a 1 11/16 inch nut width (43mm) but for some time ESP has go e to a 42 mm nut width.
It doent sound like mush but I feel a big defrence.
Have you notist that or am i just to picky.

Hey Rob! What are your thoughts on Schecter Guitars?
They seem alright. None of their stuff has ever really caught my attention though.
Watching you play Dehumanizing here made me think of something: Have you ever heard the "Low and Slow" version of that song that was a bonus track on Crown of Phantoms? I personally think it's about one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life and totally ruins the song so I'm curious about your take on it!
Ha! Yeah I did hear that once a long time ago, and I remember not liking it either. But I was bitter back then, and so maybe I should give it another shot. 🤘
do you like V shapes? the LTD black metal arrow is a nice guitar!
I like V's on other players, like Mustaine or Kerry King, but they're not my style personally.
@@RobArnoldWorld Funny thing about die hard V-fans all over the world that I notice, is that they mostly think very collectivistic and maximalistic, and like to impose this taste on others. It's like: "V's are the coolest guitars in the world, nothing else just should exist. Throw away your bullshit and buy a V and you will be the man!". And when you say openly that you don't like V's, they look at you like an alien. I'm jokingly exaggerate of course, but something like that still exists.
Two questions, which string gauge have you used in this guitar? And is it tuned C drop?
The thing is I bought one EC1000 few weeks ago and 6th string have sone issues with the tuning. I tried 10-52, C drop and nothing. Then, I switched to 12-60 and the string is still out of tune a liiiiittle bit. Yes, it sounds amazing and is a very cool guitar but that tuning issue is like a pain in the ass😖
You made bad decisions.
You should keep in mind that with a 0.52, it was impossible that you could tune in Drop C on the short scale of the Ec1000.
A minimum 0.60 or 0.62 will have the right tension, I recommend that you use daddario 11-56 and change the 56 for a 62 and you will be in the sweet spot of tension.
You should also know that the nut is essential for stability in tuning, both its material with which it is made, and the height of each string, which in general must be exactly the same as the frets, with the nut acting as a zero fret. .
Swap the nut for a graphtech black tusq XL and voila, all your tuning problems will disappear.
They're D'addario NY XL 13-56, in drop C! I filmed a set up video for this guitar too! Look out for it next week, and hopefully there might be some information in there that can help with your tuning problem!
