I had and still have this skates as my first pair for almos a year now. After seeing this and following them, I know I made a good decision! Great review
Hey, B! I just wanted to thank you for your in-depth reviews on the M12. I had a pair of the originals, back in my HS days, but was kind of weary to go with them again since, well that's what I was rocking when I gave up skating...🙃 I ended up getting the Spassov Moons and I absolutely love them. Even managed to nail some Soul and Mizu grinds on my second time at the local park! I'd love to rock some Laced gear! Get at me daaaaaawg 💪🏾🤙🏾
I threw my Sam Crofts liner in there because that liner is quite a bit thinner than the stock liner. The stock liners are very thick and my feet go numb.
Why would you want anything less than perfection? These are the best skates I've ever had or ever likely to have! I couldn't recommend these skates any more! Especially for the price. They are the most comfortable and responsive skates I've ever skated let alone owned! I'm a UK size 9/10 depending which shoes I go for so I got a pair of size 11 white m12's. I've never had any problems with comfort or sizing so I'd recommend getting at least the one size larger. They are the only skates that haven't hurt my feet. I used to have Oxygens and K2 fatty pros and had pain from them and parts breaking. I have skated most days for almost exactly a year now. Yeah I have gone through wheels with an anti-rocker setup but that's what you get for skating anti-rocker. With the laces, I did them up once and never had to do anything else with them as I just use the memory buckle. The frame is solid! As I skate anti-rocker the frame has lasted me the whole time without any issues (I do however, mainly grind on rails rather than ledges and havent done any grinds on any concrete). I have recently purchased another pair of the sesame ones (I just like having 2 of the things that are important to me, I didnt need another pair) and the colour is far nicer than any of the photos on the internet suggest. I skate those with a flat setup with dead 58mm 88a wheels and I did have a few issues with wheel bite but mainly just squeaking although I found I couldn't torque slide anymore skating flat but I do those grinds at an angle so when I tweaked the grind to be more perpendicular to the rail it was fine. I never used to be able to torque slide or backslide until I got these skates so they do make a lot of grinds easier, I found. I just don't see why anyone would want anything else as they are very likely to be worse. Anyway get these skates! You cant go wrong with perfection for between £160 and £175!
I feel like if anything is going to get me off my Salomons it's going to be these. I have a narrow but long foot (295mm) and finding a shell that fits well has been a real crap shoot for me. Wish I had picked up the Joe's last year when I still could.
Just found the channel after I got myself a pair of roces m12 loco collabs. Can’t wait to try them. Don’t know if I should ride flat like I used to or stick with the antirocker setup
Great review! I hope you get some USD Aeons next to review! It’s either Roces M12 or USD Aeons for me next and I’d love to see your opinion first. I currently have the Razors Shift 2 and I’m not impressed with their quality
The Razor Shift is what put me off Razors after years of skating them. They're super cool, but so un-responsive feeling. I'm pretty tempted to try some Aeons, But I LOVE my M12s 😆
@@BrandonDrummond Brilliant skate! Stock liners are pants though. Make your toes numb for a while and the tounge keeps slipping down. The boot itself is great!
man I'm having a hard time breaking in my M12's. I put Oysi frames on them and have 72mm wheels which make my ankles feel like they're gonna snap. I'm not sure the M12 boot was designed to support your ankles on wheels that big so I may have to drop a few mm in wheel size. Great review, thanks Brandon!
P G I have two sets of the large oysi frames resting on the shelt for quite a long time now. As the only ufs boot that I know is Razors shift 2, and the problem is the same as yours. You need something with 45 degree strap to ride them
@@pg9193 Ignore K2s. There is a reason why you see almost brand new pairs on places like Blade Trade for about the quarter of the retail price (and they still don't sell). I could write like two pages about how much I hated my Front Sreets and how bummed I was at the same time because I think they could be amazing skates. I really hope K2 will revisit them in the future, but don't go near the current models.
You might wanna try extra long hockey laces wrapped with the pressure where a 45° strap would be. Obviously, not as ideal as a legit strap, but better than nothing.
I'm really liking the Roces Tides and Breeze. But I also kind of want to try some Aeons. I'm not sure. We'll see, I'm very happy with these skates atm.
I have the roces frame on the 5th elements I tried to remove my anti rocker wheels but they seem stuck in there I was wondering if you have heard of this problem and know how to fix it that would make a cool video
I had the same problem but I whacked them with a heavy spanner until they moved and prised them out with the really long allen key that came with my m12's. The one used to undo the ufs bolts. I can only assume your 5th elements came with the same tools. Either that or take the frame off and whack them through the frame. Mine was a large, adjustable spanner so it didnt do them any damage.
I’m good at skating, I like rinks and I can skate outside I just can’t do any tricks yet, I want a skate that I can use indoor and outdoor that feel comfortable on the concrete/street. I also want them to have nice options for color or or you could recommend the wheels you have or something good for me to replace the wheels with. I’m not really sure what type of in line to get that would be good for indoor and outdoor, I probably won’t be grinding on anything though but who knows
If you have no plans for doing grinds I wouldn't recommend getting aggressive skates like these. Aggressive skates sacrifice a lot of rolling ability for grinding. An urban skate or Rec skate will all ways feel better to roll on that an aggressive skate. I would recommend the Micro Mt plus skates. They're bright colors and roll so nice. My favorite for sure. i hope that helps.
So I've been skating massive tank like skates my hole life. Now that I've hit 33 I've been wanting a smaller skate.something that doesnt look so massive on my feet. Are these the smallest skates on the market? I dont live near a shop to be able to look at and try things on.
