- Owner and pilot Joshua Knerr flies his freshly restored 1930 Franklin PS-2 primary glider ‘Allaire’ over Harris Hill at the 2024 International Vintage Soaring Meet. Originally built in 1930, this is one of the oldest gliders still flying in the world. The PS-2 weighs 286 lbs. empty, has a 15-1 glide ratio, and cruises at about 30 mph. Thanks to Josh for letting me add a camera on one flight and to Alex Gilles of Germany for the air-to air photos. Shot and edited by Paul Naton © 2024.
Paul, kudos. Brilliant in every way. Fantastic to see a direct connection with MIT's storied aero-astro lineage.
Been playing out in the field with your friends again, have you? Great flight and nice footage! Too bad it’s a one seater!
Thank you Paul, I really enjoyed it! 👌👏👏👏🇦🇺
Thanks for sharing. Just awesome.
Gorgeous!
Stunning! What a beautiful Bird! Thank you!
Just beautiful. Thanks Paul.
When I was younger living in Hope British Columbia they had a old glider there that the Germans used to train their pilots in before World War II
