Honestly, considering Heavy’s backstory and enjoyment of Russian literature, I could totally see him just reading the book to think critically about it and isn’t a communist.
I'm communist, and I think that heavy can't be communist, not only for his backstoty (that could make him only antisovietic like alexander borganov or george orwell), but because he's the most expensive mercenary that fights for the heritage papers of a bourgeoise.
I love how Heavy honestly thought "it could just be a book about farming" was a good answer to the question of why he had the Communist Manifesto on hand. Sure there's probably one or two things about farming in there but to Soldier it's still the Manifestio.
@@IBeforeAExceptAfterK An idiot reading the manifesto and thinking it is about farming has happened, there was someone who thought destroy social class meant force everyone to farm
My favorite part about this is how Heavy is all like "Demo I can explain!" thinking he's going to get scolded like Scout, Spy, and Sniper and then Demoman ends up not caring that Heavy is communist 😂😂
Fun fact: If you read the official TF2 comics, Heavy actually opposed Communism and the Soviet Union. His backstory is that his father was a counter-revolutionary who opposed the Soviet Union, and so him and his family got thrown in a gulag. Heavy ended up saving his mother and sisters from the Gulag when he was just a teenager. When I read this, it gave me a new found respect for the guy. Edit: His father was a counter-revolutionary, not just a revolutionary, my bad.
If someone were to send you to a terrible prison for disliking a horrible government, forcing your loved ones into it aswell, then yeah, someone would probably kill the people who sent them in there
I mean, historically, a lot of "anticommunist revolutionaries," like the ones in Hungary, were straight fascists DISCLAIMER: not to say opposing the Soviet Union makes you a fascist. I can see the pros and cons of it, but ultimately, it could have done better. I mean, at least it wasn't modern day Russia.
The best part is is that in the comics Heavy and his family are some of the most anti-communistic people around. They were in a gulag because Heavy’s Dad was an anti-revolutionary. Heavy in his family burned the gulag to the ground and left to the most isolated parts of Russia. The Soviets sent many teams to kill Heavy and his family…none of them succeed. Eventually the Soviets just stop sending men after them because they figured it was a waste of time and resources and Heavy and his family were the only real family in the USSR to have private property and own their own land outside the state. It’s why when Heavy tells his family of his plan to bring them all to America they are ecstatic.
I could see the fact that soldier is on the red team being a gag on the cancelled tv show like whenever someone brought up that they were the red team he would just start screaming
That book is way too long to be the communist manifesto. Its like 20 pages, it was supposed to be an introductory to the concept to get peasant farmers and factory workers interested.
@@rcofield732 by any chance, did anyone happen to kill a blue American Spy? No? Then we might have a problem. *places Sniper's body on table, which has numerous gun shot wounds & a knife stabbed in his back*
Fun fact, an part of the official lore that was quickly redconned was the fact that RED and BLU both owned all of the world's goverments, this was very early lore that was quickly changed cause at the release of the game there wasn't really all much trought into the tf2 universe as of yet. So, RED being communist at some point might not seem as farfetched as you think. Intrestingly enough, since only the english version of the tf2 wiki gets uptated nowadays, this old info still resides in most other supported languages on it. Honestly, considering Heavy’s backstory and enjoyment of Russian literature, I could totally see him just reading the book to think critically about it and isn’t a communist.
"You should not judge a book for its cover soldier."
Quote by Heavy
Well...he isn't. He actually has a PHD in Russian literature and gas various reasons to oppose communism.
Considering his family was a victim of the gulags and he's on the run from the KGB, I'd say he's not a communist, or at least just not a soviet
I'm communist, and I think that heavy can't be communist, not only for his backstoty (that could make him only antisovietic like alexander borganov or george orwell), but because he's the most expensive mercenary that fights for the heritage papers of a bourgeoise.
@@ratasher7937 that's... true tho
I love how Heavy honestly thought "it could just be a book about farming" was a good answer to the question of why he had the Communist Manifesto on hand. Sure there's probably one or two things about farming in there but to Soldier it's still the Manifestio.
He was probably banking on Soldier being unable to read.
@@IBeforeAExceptAfterK to be fair, Mr. John Doe *is* american...
I assume Heavy didn't expect Soldier to be able to read, so he'd just see a book with two farming tools on the cover.

From that day, Soldier was never the same again.
Then he killed himself. The end
The video today isnt about heavy being a communist but the soldier is now depressed and possibly suffering from a identity dissorder

It is a actual voice line from the video "Expiration Date"
@@bluhunter9832 Yeah I've seen it since then thanks
Fun fact: If you read the official TF2 comics, Heavy actually opposed Communism and the Soviet Union. His backstory is that his father was a counter-revolutionary who opposed the Soviet Union, and so him and his family got thrown in a gulag. Heavy ended up saving his mother and sisters from the Gulag when he was just a teenager. When I read this, it gave me a new found respect for the guy.
Edit: His father was a counter-revolutionary, not just a revolutionary, my bad.
He also tortured the guards to death
@@voidlight0472 yeah but what kind of hero didn´t tortured someon to death?
@@maucazalv903 fair enough, I guess
If someone were to send you to a terrible prison for disliking a horrible government, forcing your loved ones into it aswell, then yeah, someone would probably kill the people who sent them in there
I mean, historically, a lot of "anticommunist revolutionaries," like the ones in Hungary, were straight fascists
DISCLAIMER: not to say opposing the Soviet Union makes you a fascist. I can see the pros and cons of it, but ultimately, it could have done better. I mean, at least it wasn't modern day Russia.
Liberty prime be like: R E D C H I N E S E O N A M E R I C A N S O I L ! ! !

demoman finds that spy is a furry and now soldier finds out that heavy is a communist
*Soldier is a communist
Demoman must be going insane as the "series" goes on
I feel like Soldier would refuse, insisting that his red is the first step in red white and blue, not *evil communist red!*

(Exept for the French version cause I went out of my way to fix it)
