I just visited this place! So sad to see the disrepair it fell into, especially now after seeing what this beautiful place once looked like. True Americana. Thank you for this video!
A beautiful history of the iconic TWIN ARROWS Trading Post. There is a poignant history lesson to be learned here. The documentation here is wonderful and so important. Thank you very much, Anthony.
Hi Shellee, thank you for the comment. I still am left speechless when I see this brief footage of the interior of the twin Arrows Trading Post while sill in operation in contrast to all of these years later and the sad state of condition that property has ultimately become. There is now so much video and photography documenting the current severe damage and neglect it is as if what I saw and experienced was a completely different place. Sad. But time marches on, and waits for no one. Even when the Earth is no more, time will still move on, even if there's nobody left to keep track of it.. .
I used to stop here for fuel back in the latter '50's ! Two gun's and many places along 66 were thriving back then. Almost anything was worth a stop. Geronimo's and some other neighboring place used to put up signs trying to outdo each other ! I-40 killed almost evrything on the old "mother road"
THE two boys standing by the statues reminder me of my brother and I looking at a statue of a woman bare breasted. my mom was horrified when the film was developed seeing us staring!!!
@@AnthonyReichardt Thanks for responding, Anthony. I also wish to extend my appreciation for the videos that you have posted on route 66. My wife and I covered the Mother Road in three separate trips back in the early 2000s. To this day ee both agree it was the best travel experience we’ve ever had. Many remnants of the old road are still there for all to see. Like a step back in time.
I seen the 2009 picture of the arrows and 1 was missing the fletchings I was tripping out cause 8 30 2019 I just seen the twin arrows and they looked pefect then I realized it was repaired.
So you have any footage of Winslow, Meteor City, or Two Guns? The residents of Winslow enjoyed your last Twin Arrows vid which I shared with them via Facebook group
I have nothing of 'Meteor City' but do have 'Two Guns'. In 1993 I drove my Cadillac out over that old bridge and got a tour by some guy named 'Mike'. I'll have to see if anything is watchable. Thanks for spreading the word. Anthony Reichardt Santa Ana, California
1959 Cadillac on Route 66 That would be awesome if you could post a video of Two Guns from a while back. Visited two guns and twin arrows just last week and it’s crazy to see how much has changed. Thanks for sharing.
So interesting to see it open and the inside. I've only ever seen it deserted

I’ve seen this in many videos but not the before picture so thanks. I wish it was still up and running
You are not alone in wishing that old Route 66 business was still operating. At least some photos, video and memories have still survived.
Very sad that one arrow has fallen to the ground.
So great to see Americana along Route 66 as it was back in the past. So sad to see it disappear. Loved the music. Thank you.
RVerTV was to this place today. It's a mess now.
Wow, that's awesome you were able to capture this before vandals destroyed it.
All of those years ago I could have never imagined the destiny of that business would be the current sad state it is in.
The Arrow has fallen. I have a vid coming out on it in an hour.

Very nice video thanks for sharing it. Its truly a shame to watch history waste away like that. William
Thank you, William. This is one of those Route 66 stories that doesn't seem to have a happy ending.

What is that beautiful lush music you have playing in the background? I’d love to try to find it on TH-cam music.
The opening music track is by the HOLLYRIDGE STRINGS - 'Save It For Me' - 1965 and the closing track is by GORDON FRANKS ORCHESTRA - 'Rififi' - 1967.

They are building a new on ramp and off ramp on the exit so it's possible twin arrows is getting demolished in the near future
I believe you are probably right. That run down and vandalized place is no doubt, a big headache and liability for the owners.

Updates?
