      Those trees are now extinct sadly :/ we have studied about it in our school. The mass production of the galleon caused this extinction because they didn't even bother to replant that type of tree they used.

      @Patricio-Mercado-Noel-1899 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      +Policarpo Dumaguing. (Apologies for the repost, original was deleted.) The Japanese & Americans are not the reason why Manila doesn't look like Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. We could have rebuilt what was destroyed and instead chose to copy the skyscrapers, suburban homes, parking lots, and concrete highways of the U.S., instead of rebuilding and preserving the Bahay na Bato and cobblestone streets. Other countries in Europe, such as Poland, Germany, Italy, Greece and France suffered heavy bombing but they did not use that as an excuse to not rebuild what was there prior to World War 2.

    • @estebanlipa6320
      @estebanlipa6320 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @The One bombings were done by the Americans. 1945 Japanese had no more firepower as they already lost totally to the Americans in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. In the 1945 Battle of Manila army superiority was on the Japanese side pero wala sila airpower. Airpower nasa Americans at sila nambomba ng walang pakundangan maski may mga civilians.

    • @semicirclesbeatall4648
      @semicirclesbeatall4648 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think that the blame belongs both to the Americans and the Japanese for essentially the destruction of the old Spanish era buildings but the blame for the loss of the buildings and it's style could be given to the Filipino Government itself which did not choose to rebuild Manila and other major cities in the country in its old image but instead decided to follow the more modern style of skyscrapers and buildings we now know today, and not only that but they did not use a proper method of planning the city and did not put that much regulations on building permissions.
