this siren has 4 port and the chopper level is terminal 5. the siren on my profile picture has 5 port and a 6M blower and chopper level 5. normal as a 5/6 or a 4/5 port 1000T, or a 4/5 or 5/6 port 1003.
I like how on a lot of St Paul's roof-mounted Thunderbolts, they used two huge pieces of angle iron instead of guy wires to brace it. Bet that thing isn't going anywhere anytime soon with that hefty stuff holding it up! Great video, love the sound of these old Series A1 1000s, the big blower definitely gives em character.
From what I've heard, St. Paul is replacing all of the old sirens with 2001s. Sooner or later, the 2001 virus will take over and these old relics will be gone. Hopefully they don't scrap them. I talked to St. Paul's EM and he said they don't know what they're doing with the old sirens...
@murrfarms And DAMN what a hiccup! I mean that thing doesn't gently jump down, it skips an entire step! Sounds like this old girl's in need of a new set of bearings.
This thunderbolt has The old style hicup
The hiccup has nothing to do with the age of the siren

holy crap that pulse
funny sounding attack haha
@murrfarms Yes, I agree and these old Thunderbolt 1000s have a more rich and impressive sound to them then 2001 sirens.
Absolutely amazing sound! Awesome that it did 3 mins of both signals.
Ramsey County now with the programming of the new Commander Software into thier Siren System activates them in Attack then Alert for 1 Minute Each

Hey Jpa311979 When I Was At That Adress That Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000 Is Not There In Street View In 2014
It was removed in 2012 when St. Paul replaced the entire system with FS 2001-130s.

You @ed yourself lol
To be honest I think this is the best sounding T-Bolt I have ever heard. Great video.
wow, that hiccup was crazy. 1000 still sounds awesome. sweet video!
@carexpertandy Whenever I see an old school, I look for a roof mounted Tbolt!
I heard the one I believe from the Fairgrounds after filming the siren in Roseville at Cleveland Ave and County B2
i heard something like their being donated to communities that can't afford to get new ones
I hope Minneapolis MN changes to three minute Alert Attack Tests soon that would be great
This siren is removed.
For more than 5 years
@@Whyyoutubewhy.. Actually this year marks 10 since removal
@ironike11 I heard that they changed it to longer tests.
@P50fan1 It sure didn't sound underpowered in person. Thanks.
@murrfarms Does the air force from the blower tend to weigh down on the bearings of the chopper motor?
What a powerful sound. Gotta love the T-bolts.
Great video! I love seeing Tbolts on top of old schools!
listen to a real thunderbolt go to manchester georgia thunderbolt and watch that video thats the one i used to live by
yep. like the one on top of horticulture at the state fair
the thunderbolt i live by has a much deeper growl than this one ours has a deep voice lol
Awesome video. The siren could use a little maintenance though.
