This song was my first introduction to Lucy. Two years later I put her on a stage in front of a sold out venue in Tokyo. She was magnificent. She included in her concert the beloved Japanese song "Furusato" which she sang in flawless Japanese. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. I am convinced that Lucy is well on her way to becoming an international superstar. I will continue to do everything in my power to make that into reality. Thank you for your enthusiastic support of Lucy.
@@A-AronReacts I produced the concert. I worked with a Japanese company and I personally developed a relationship with Lucy and her family. Took about a year and a half to make it all happen.
...and she was only 16. I Loved your reaction. Lucy can bring me to tears way too easily. I've downloaded every tune that I can find that she has sung on the internet.
You said it in one perfection, imo The best version I've heard and only sixteen is remarkable. The talent she possesses is mine boggling. a great reaction 🔥👑
Thank you, A-Aron for the reaction to Lucy’s masterpiece at age 16 of ‘Hallelujah’. It was the second song that I heard her sing with the first being ‘Moon River’ on her audition on the Voice Kids UK where she showed technique years beyond her age. Everything that I have heard her sing is at the very least as good as the other covers but usually, clearly better. The original songs from the upcoming musical, Rosie, are instant classics. In my 70 years on this small rocky planet, I have never heard a better singer. Hope that you react to more of her music.
I totally agree with you, it really is perfection. And the disconcerting thing about Lucy is that she's always perfect. There's no doubt in my mind that she's the best.
Out of all the versions of this song that have been recorded, and there have been many, this was the one that was chosen last year to be used in the climax of the movie, On A Wing And A Prayer. That’s because it’s the best version out there! Thank you for your reaction and support of Lucy. Absolute perfection 100%. Now A-Aron, you should have a listen to Lucy singing this live in Manchester in March 2024. The live performance is available on Lucy’s TH-cam channel.
Hello A-Aron. This song by Lucy as you know has over 50 million views on TH-cam and an unbelievable over 1billion on TikTock. So that is just the evidence of how crazy good our Lucy is. There is also a live version from her at her Manchester concert last March. Which I think is even better. Thanks for your support of Lucy and stay safe, healthy, and free.
For many of us, this was our introduction to Lucy. You can see why we're instantly hooked, floored and enamored with her talent and potential. She's the best!
Hi A-Aron - Great reaction and analysis. I'm not a vocal coach either - but I agree, this performance by a 16 year old Lucy is perfection - pure vocal/musical magic. I truly believe she is a generational type talent and much of the world is just getting introduced to her and THAT voice. She just released "I dreamed a dream" a few days ago - I highly recommend for you to check out when you have a minute. Thx again - enjoyed this.
At 16 she performed this masterpiece. But she has been doing this since she was nine. My favorite of her early works was She Used To Be Mine She did a studio version at 14 that is sublime. You have to look away at times in wonder how a young girl could put so much adult emotion into the story. At 15 she redid this live as part of a three song set for a charity event. Thay is not on her site but search LT charity event to find. She is a master story teller at this age and just as good or better live. Stay on the Lucy train, when she arrives at her destination, we can all say we knew her when. Thank you.
Hi Jeff, She Used To Be mine was my first veiwing of Lucy, and as you say is sublime, in fact i still think it is one of her best covers, how a girl of fourteen could inject such pathos into a performance is staggering. a must see for every reactor,!!! Ian.
Maybe it is time for you to meet her little sister Martha. Listen to their duet: The prayer. ( Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli cover) Angelic harmonies , 🥰♥️👍
Hi A-Aron...That was absolute perfection. Lucy takes us on a journey with every song she sings. She is pure and genuine. Her voice is gold. Lucy was only 16 when she recorded this and is now 20. She recently did this song at her first live performance and it was even better than this studio version. Hard to believe but only Lucy could make it so.
Lucy was 16 when she recorded Halelujah!,around 50 million views so far on u-tube & apparently 1 billion views/ listening on all formats!,astonishing considering Lucy is only really getting into her stride as regards to major concert performances with her third coming up in the 'West end' in October!.she is a Superstar in the making!😊
Couldn't agree more - and apparently a LOT of other people agree, too, considering the numbers this video has put up. That at 16 she looked like an angel hasn't hurt the circulation, either, but her technical discipline has always been stunning. She began lessons from Carolyn Hudson in England at age 7 and still has weekly lessons now at age 20. Her recent London concert was a smash - eight standing ovations.
There's a lot of people who thought this was special, in fact over 50 million viewers. At just sixteen years old, this was phenomenal. It so impressed the producers of the movie " On a wing and a Prayer" they used it at the end of the movie and final credits. Lucy's a one off.
Hello A- Aron, thank you for your wonderful reaction on Lucy Thomas singing " Hallelejah " yes Lucy is just so special especially to her fans, but if you listen to everything she sings, this now must be nearly 100 covers & new songs on TH-cam every song is just amazing her voice is just so special. You need to listen to her new cover "I Dreamed A Dream it is just perfect. Take care, Barbara.
Hello A-aron, I just want to say thank you for your reactions to Lucy Thomas. You reacted to "Hallelujah" when Lucy was 15 or 16. Now she has a live version at her first time "Live official Manchester concert" this year in March. She sang 17 songs and this was her last encore song. You must see it. ❤😊Thanks!
A, I agree with you about the perfection of this rendition. Her going up an octave where Cohen goes down is perfect. The vibrato trailing off each verse just resonates with me. Another reactor said no one does does vibrato as good as Lucy. A different person called her vibrato as "master class". In the bridge her breath control really shines. She blows right past where many would take a breath with air to spare. This was the second video of Lucy that I watched. First was "Memory" from Cats where she does a full-on wide open belt and still has her diction, vibrato, etc. I subscribed immediately after Cats and and even developed my own description of her : "Reach but no screech". Check out Memory and Evergreen. You will be blown away. MORE: In many of her renditions, after the power push of the sound, she collects it all back to a very light and tender conclusion. A fellow reactor said: "I figured it out. She makes everything beautiful."
Lucy was 16 when she recorded this , an updated live version at the age of 20 from her Manchester concert earlier this year also on You Tube. Well worth a watch ...of course ! 😊😊😊
Hi ya A-Aron - as already mentioned, Lucy was 16 when she recorded this video. I would like you to check out Lucy's encore live version from her March Manchester Live Concert. In my opinion, at 20 yo she performed this song (live) even better than this studio version. Great reaction by the way - please continue to support Lucy and do many more reactions! Stay safe and healthy!
Hi A-Aron great reaction to this song. What can you say about it other than WOW Hallelujah had never been I song I liked until I heard Lucy sing this and it hooked me and I have been a fan ever since. 50million views on her channel 37million on Robbie Dunbar her fan club channel and 1 billion views on tik tok. Its also been used in the Dennis Wade film on a wing and a prayer.and only 16 years old when she sang it .She did a live version of this in her Manchester concert which many thinkl is better Thanks for supporting Lucy.
A few years ago, when Lucy and I were still young teenagers, I thought it couldn't be better than her studio recordings. However, after hearing and seeing her for the first time on a live stage, I only know how good this young Lady really is. Together with Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Lucy is my absolute favorite artist!
She gets rite in too your soul so beautiful❤

This is the second best version of “Hallelujah” I’ve ever heard, the best? Lucy live as her encore at her Manchester concert of course!
It IS perfection!

She's in a class of her own. 🌞
Lucy produces a sound that is a delight to the ears. She is also a delight to the eyes.
I totally agree with you, it really is perfection. And the disconcerting thing about Lucy is that she's always perfect. There's no doubt in my mind that she's the best.
Lucy's Hallelujah version is the best and most version of the Hallelujah song.
She was only 16 when this was recorded...amazing maturity in her voice for being so young. BRAVO!
Lovely comments for a lovely lass. Such a STAR. Thanks.

Thank you for your analysis. For me, Lucy is by far the best singer on earth, no doubt about it.
