    Glad to see everyone is getting cleared up and ready for normal living and trade for the locals 😊

      @gooddifferentadventures. Give it a few months things will be back to normal. Important thing is to support the local business as much as we can.

    Thanks kids, I am still in Canada but on my way in a couple of weeks. I kinda don't want to get in the way of the clean up; so maybe I'll see you in November. Thanks for the video.

      @TerryAShaw might be a good idea. This cleanup will take a few months. Some, not all of Chiang Mai is affected. Old City is fine. It just depends where you're going to be staying. 👍🇹🇭

    Thais are very resilient people.. things will get back sooner than later.. I have seen many floods over my 30 plus years of visiting and living in Thailand

    • @roadsandrevelations

      @mixalis6168 Resilient for sure. You've only got to see the depth of history Thailand has to know that this country has seen many floods in its day. The sheer volume of water that falls in a short period of time would test the best of flood protection anywhere. I think the powers that be didn't expect to see this extra level of flooding here. Its awesome to witness how fast people here get on with life and push on despite setback.

    Thanks for the update, please keep us posted, I am a senior and staying at the dusitD2 in late November, the hotel is closed for renovations at the moment, should I change hotels? or wait and see. Cheers!

      @roadsandrevelations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. We will try to do that. If the Hotel is closed for renovations I would just give them a call to see if they are going to get finished in time for your stay. That area of the city is a busy area so will be cleaned up hopefully.

    Chiang Mai is either bigger or the flooded area is smaller than people think. I was there last January for 7 days and the only place I visited then that was flooded this month is Waroros market which is located by the river.

      Chiang Mai is a large city. And this flood was of a record height.
      Warorot Market was certainly affected as was a lot of the nearby Chinatown area. The flooding was also present down Chang Klang Rd night market area. It also flooded through.
      To get a good idea of the extent of the flooding check out the posts on "Chiang Mai News in English" Facebook page. They covered the event really well. 🙏🇹🇭

    I live in Chiang Mai.. Wat Ket... Hard hit... I left and I'm in Bangkok now... I'll return when things are better.
    When was this recorded? Because 8 left on the 10 th... And it looks the same in your video!

    • @roadsandrevelations
      @roadsandrevelations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @onehappykamper.. it was recorded after the 10th so things haven't changed much. Down around Iron Bridge area is a bit of a mess. It will take another few weeks minimum to shift the flood debris away. Then there's the mud.

    • @roadsandrevelations
      @roadsandrevelations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is sad but life here in Chiang Mai will bounce back. It may take another few weeks to get things tidied up so your arrival time may be ok. The footage was shot earlier this week. 🙏🇹🇭

    Money is like horseshit, keep it in a pile & it stinks, spread it round & everything grows🌱

      Exactly ... If everyone buys local and helps the businesses out they will soon get back on their feet.

    What is she wearing!!!??? Did you see that girl in black getting off the elevator? What kind of garb is that??? How could anyone wish to be caught dead in a getup like that, in a first-class hotel?

      @@roadsandrevelations Personally, I prefer a coat and tie in Thailand... But, I guess I cannot expect others to follow suit, even though I sometimes wear suits, too.
