I always get made fun of when I wear them. I want people to focus on Christ rather than me, but they get so distracted by the head covering. Do you experience this?

As a hijabi muslim woman, I love to see head covering practiced by christians as well. I've heard a lot of people wont wear it or experienced unpleasant things because they were accidentally mistaken for muslims (but thats not an insult tho). Love and peace to my sisters in humanity and modesty 🫶

Looking at the comment section made me stupidly smile !! I was just curious watching this video, i didn't even know what modest in that meaning was, and i'm genuinely so happy to see that crochet can bring so many different people together and that crochet can adapt to anybody!
I think you made a good point in saying that vintage is where it's at when it comes to modest patterns. Young people like yourself who have just discovered crochet in the last few years may think that it is all blankets and crop tops. Sure, the 60s and 70s had their share of miniskirts, but overall there is more coverage in the patterns from those eras. Keep up the good work!

I am a modest crocheter and would just like to add that a lot of crop top patterns can easily be made longer. I’ve done this a bunch and it’s super cute. Also if you want that cropped look without showing skin, you can make some kind of cropped cardigan and wear it over a regular fitted shirt.

idk what type of style the crop tops you made are, but something that can look cute is to wear a longer shirt (whether a tshirt or like a button up) and wear that under the crop top. I do that sometimes if its too cold to wear just a crop top! Then you can show off your hard work without being uncomfortable ❤
