I just wanted to say thank you, I have been fishing flounder the last few weeks on my days off and watching your video made cleaning and cooking them 1000 times easier and better, being a Washington resident my whole life I am constantly finding new ways to harvest food for my family with our going to the grocery store and your videos have definitely helped. I can’t thank you enough. Hopefully I’ll see you out there fishing soon
Just became a subscriber and already I’m hooked like it’s crack. You have a very good way of communicating great information to the novice fisherman like myself. Your footage is amazing! I watch a lot of fishing videos and have learned a lot which I pass on to my 13 grandchildren. I’ve always wanted to explore the northwest fishing opportunities but haven’t made it up. You bring it to me with these amazing videos. Thank you so much. I’m surprised you don’t have about 10 million subs😊

This just appeared on our feed. My husband and I are new to Puget Sound fishing. Really appreciate it! I’ll keep you posted when (if?) we catch a flounder, and importantly, how we cook it- thank you!!
Bought a shirt. Hadn't ever seen your first video, it's really good in such a raw organic way. Watching you catch, cut, and cook the fish was really cool. Danish sauce looks yum. Glad you got your channel going now, fun to share in your adventures, lived in WA for 8 years so feels like traveling back with a fun friend I've never met. Fish on!
Always go back to watch the 1st video of people I sub to. Mine is kinda "off" as well; but you did WAAAAAYYY better than me LOL. Broil them with Johnny's seasoning salt, lemon zest, tarragon, and Dill. Just a light pad of butter will coat the fish as it Cooks. Low-fat, good for seniors and those on dietary restrictions.
Hey Chase! Thanks for watching and congrats on the new boat!! Lingcod just closed on the 15th, and you can't retain rockfish. Salmon is probably closed in MA 9 right now as well (refer to fishing regs). What I would go after especially on a first outing would be flounder in the flat areas SW of Possession Point in 50-80' of water. Use pieces of clam, fish, squid, worms, etc... They will also go after jigs in that area! If you can find areas with some rocks or kelp beds, you could try for cabezon, kelp greenling, and perch! Cabezon, like small crabs, so maybe try sand shrimp. They will also go after jigs. So will perch and kelp greenling! But I would definitely say to bring some floundering gear, as it is guaranteed fun! Also, since you have a boat now, I highly recommend downloading the "Navionics +" app. It's like $10/year but worth far more than that. Good luck and let me know how it goes!!! Feel free to send in some pictures of your catch (directions in my profile), and I'll show them off for you on my next vid.
Just discovered your channel. Great presentation, enthusiasm! Beginning to watch the journey from the beginning. :) I used to go with my grandfather Sanddab fishing in Puget Sound. Are the Sanddab and the Flounder closely related?
Yep, just let it sit on the bottom. The current will drift your bait and boat, so just make sure your bait is on the bottom by letting out a little line here and there. Just wait for the tugging!
Hi I live up in Vancouver BC , I catch them from shore I find the best time is one hour before slack low tide, high slack time would be good also at the right place , I go low slack because as he mentioned in the video sand worms , you can get these then in Sandy muddy type ground with rocks on top this is where I find them , these are the little creatures that bite you, I just use a sliding egg weight , put the weight on the main line , then a swivel with 5 foot leader , i hope this helps we catch these all around the Vancouver harbour ,

I like using buttermilk versus regular milk. It makes the fry mix stick and taste better.
Great video! Making me hungry well done.
Every week while crabbing we get flounder. We usually just cook it up with fins and skin. I'll try your way and maybe even freeze and stock up some
I generally use the egg wash, flour and panko for the breading. Love all fish that way!
Breading a simple white fish takes away the true flavor of the fish. Sauteed Flounder with a side of buttery rice and a nice side salad are perfect.
