    Thank you Dr Becky! I've been following your channel for over a year now. During the last 18 months, your advice has helped me lose over 50 pounds. All I did was eat smaller portions with a higher ratio of protein, (little or NO sugar) and mild exercise like walking or swimming. Seeing this transformation has inspired my wife to lose weight too!     Drinking water and drinking coffee in the morning is a no brainer! I have also switched from 3 cups of coffee to one cup, then black or green tea. I am almost carnivore, so I get lots of protein. I am into yardwork and gardening, so I get some Hiit or Rhit everyday, and I prioritize my sleep time. I also study and indulge in vitamin therapy. Right now, at 73, I am doing great!

    Great video. In regards to resistance training, I’ve found it helpful to get a set of high quality resistance bands, and perform a vertical push and pull and a horizontal push and pull and some squats. All movements one set to failure. If you truly go to failure, doing this once or twice a week should be adequate. 20 to 40 minutes per week.

    I’m happy to support you as you were the gateway to my healthy self! I purchased the book and will have it hanging around in my house when our very sugar addicted friend who is worried about his health comes to visit. Maybe he will take a look! I couldn’t have made all the other changes in my life without your 0-1-2-3 approach. Getting off sugar was a necessary first step!! Thank you both.

    My hot tub is my friend. Also love sauna. Enjoy a cold plunge. Hate cold showers, but can tolerate on my legs which is beneficial for circulation. All in for increased protein and avoiding carbs. Can’t do caffeine, it kills my sleep.

    So wonderful to see you guys together I always love these programs thank you for all that you have done for a lot of people in their lives concerning weight control. Gained a little bit over the holidays added back a little bit of sugar but getting back on track did not wait till the first of the year started right after Christmas dinner!! Highly recommend your book I have given it away to friends and they are doing wonderful in victory is just around the corner!!!!

    A less drastic cold therapy method is to turn the shower to completely cold (will be less than 70 degrees in the winter in many locations) for 1 minute at the end of your shower.

    Great to see Keith looking and sounding so well. I don't like cold showers but I live in an area where it's 3 degrees centigrade outside, so when I go for a walk I can take my hat off for a few minutes, and my bald head will probably absorb as much cold as a cold shower. I love coffee and have researched it, and it certainly is good for you. I try to keep my protein intake up at every meal and I drink zero alcohol, so sleep better overall than the average drinker. Happy New Year.

      Last winter, Keith would walk around the block in a t-shirt (no coat) to take advantage of the early morning chilly air. I will have to remind him to start that back up again...I'll stay home :). Happy New Year!

    I am so glad you brought up drinking water first thing in the morning. I started doing this consistently after your first video. I really feel that it has worked. Other benefit, I feel more hydrated. I know that my body is absorbing 500 ml of water plus a couple cups of coffee, because I don’t urinate sooner than 2 hours after drinking. Can actually set the clock. I found that VERY interesting. Also, I have found both of you to have the kindest delivery of the low/carb/keto channels. I always check in, even after 3 yrs. I have found you to be spot on with your message.

    I hope black tea counts! I’ll do the extra water, I do HIIT exercise 2-3 times a week. Have to remember to stop caffeine by 2 pm, or I can’t get to sleep! Thanks for the practical and doable list.

    Happy New Year’s Eve! I’m willing to try drinking 2 cups of water first thing in the morning, increasing my protein intake, and resistance training. When it comes to resistance training, I’ll stick with beginner-friendly exercises for now. I haven’t done or been consistent in doing resistance training for a while.

    Dr. Berry says, "Use your dark colored truck in the summer for a sauna." It feels good to me. Cold therapy not so much though I have tried it at different times.

    I think one of the biggest problems when people eats is not knowing how must 'actual food' to eat when it comes to macros. You mentioned protein as an example - the weight of, say chicken, is not the weight of protein from that chicken. Same for beef, turkey, lamb etc.

    Is Cocoa actually better for you to drink than Coffee, particularly as you get older? Just a thought. It is said to boost NO2 production which is good for circulation.

      Products with high cacao levels have health benefits. The challenge is that the best sources are bitter. Cocoavia is an example of a beneficial cocoa that is very bitter tasting.

    You mentioned coffee because of the caffeine. I’m wondering if any caffeine would be okay to consume as long as it doesn’t have any sugar.

      One of the studies that we did not discuss used caffeine tablets, so I would say any unsweetened caffeine source. Diet soda and other non-caloric caffeinated drinks introduce variables that were not mentioned in the studies.

    I do aqua in the local gym pool and it’s always 🥶! They just can’t get the temperature right- so that’s my contribution. But only one cup of coffee- ok?

    Drinking 500ml of water, can it be herbal tea? Since post menopause I am having so much trouble getting the weight off. I did 4 years of keto and lost 10kg within the first year and after that I couldn’t budge anymore weight off. The last 16 months I started full time work in a job that requires a lot of walking and I have gained 5kg and an apron belly, I have just started low carb eating after following your channel and am incorporating exercise. I love coffee but it triggers horrible acid reflux so I have been drinking decaf but thinking I may get back onto the caffeine. I will be 65 in May and always looked after my health and fitness so this is very frustrating for me. I am not a big eater, (I eat until I am satisfied so I am not starving myself) my partner is always shocked when I tell him I have gained. I love your channel and have been binging on your videos, hoping I can get things moving again, also I am going to start taking Berberine, have you heard of it and do you think its a good idea? I also do intermittent fasting for 16 hours. Thank you for all your guidance ❤️🇦🇺

      You can drink herbal tea throughout the day. However, the specific metabolic boost from water requires you to drink 500ml (2 cups) quickly in the morning.

      I recommend avoiding foods with sugar listed as one of the first three ingredients.

    So glad the holidays are over. I prefer my low carb eating. I did not enjoy cooking treats to cover the holidays. I love Christmas. But I no longer find traditional foods a reward! And to think low carb is like a salmon fighting against the stream! GOD HAVE MERCY.

    The heat and cold therapy is a waste of time take the same amount of minutes and run around the block and you’ll get far better benefits

    Every time, even as a kid, I'd get an ear ache and then a cold. I jumped in because people said it was good for you. It was. I don't listen to nonsense anymore.
