Staying in a Shepherd's hut, Skiddaw & a winter lake swim! | A weekend in the Lake District

Hello! and happy new year! the first weekend of 2024 has started the year off well - we stayed in my friends Shepherd hut for a night - my first time staying in one! [gifted stay]. Saddleback Snug is the perfect getaway in the Lake District - located near Keswick making it an ideal place to unwind and relax whilst being a great base for all your lake district adventures. We hiked up Skiddaw for sunrise and I even surprised myself with getting in Ullswater in January!
As mentioned I the video - Shelley, who owns Saddleback Snug hut, is a good friend of mine and so whilst I may be biased with encouraging you to stay here - she really is an amazing host (read the reviews for yourself) and I cannot recommend this little slice of heaven enough!

Very nice video, I really enjoyed that. Your editing is getting really good. Looked like a very nice little place to stay with some great views. I love the Lake District, I hope to get there this summer for some hiking and wild camping. That water looked freezing 🥶 always good to force yourself in, I always feel good after a cold water dip.
