Just got the 912ce Builders Edition (Lutz Spruce top / Indian Rosewood) 5 days ago. It’s the most comfortable and best sounding guitar I have ever played.
It’s identical to this one, but in the Grand Concert version, which is more compact and exactly the size I wanted.
Can't beat Lutz or Adirondack!
Screams comfort in every inch. Nice demo, Chris.
Taylor still using the old ES2 need to up their game on sound reproduction of their pickup systems. Taylor is a big company now to not have the state of art pickup system in guitars that cost so much.
Yes, I agree! This is coming from a true Taylor fan, too. I actually own a Builder’s Edition 914ce WHB, along with several other ES2 equipped guitars in other series.
I ALWAYS have to dial back the super harsh mids A LOT, and even a bit of the cutting trebles to make the plugged in sound even remotely resemble the guitar’s true acoustic sound. I’ve found this to be true regardless of price point of the guitar (214ce Plus, AD24ce, 914ce BE WHB)
I appreciate the simplicity and adjustability of the ES2 Pickups. But I wish Taylor would just change the “default tone” of their preamp that processes the sound of the behind the bridge piezo.
Very nice sounding and playing guitar. I really like my Builders Edition Taylors. Thanks Chris
Great playing Chris.
Im kinda happy to see someone struggle to play a taylor beyond the 7th fret and not only me.
Sounds Great Chris!!
Sweet new take on a great guitar. I love silent satin, and think it’s a great addition, and is more consistent with the BE concept. It will be interesting to see if the guitar-buying public agrees.
Not every BE has satin finish. The original BE 814ce has high gloss finish which is nicer than the new BE 814ce satin finish IMO. The satin finish seems to balance well with the abundant abalone inlays on the 914ce. I always thought that the high gloss finish 914ce is a bit too shiny and sparkly.
Thats a guitar I would buy
Strap button is on the back, instead of the treble side of the heel… ?
That is one beautiful-looking and -sounding guitar! Would be better without the ES2 though...
Order one without the ES2… and install an Anthem… simple.
Just place a dynamic mic and a condenser mic in front of the sound hole and the sounds those mics produce would be way better than any expensive on-board pickup can ever produce.
@@hughnguyen1772 I am sure this would record nicely. But, usable on a loud stage, with other instruments, or in a loud room, where more volume is needed… probably not.
I’m curious, why would it be better without the ES2?
@@letsridehard the ES2 doesn’t sound bad, but it doesn’t sound that great either. An LR Baggs Anthem would be much more fitting to a guitar of this build quality.
Yoa! how bout chamforing thining the inside braces all that extra lumber kinda mutes the sound .... I no longer own the Taylor cus of that very problem. Can you give us players an inside talk about the bracing or is that all proprietary no go ?
I would like to see the Builder’s 914ce with Adirondack Spruce as on the Builder’s 814ce
I had a 914ce builders edition. I found it to be quite unbalanced in its sound. Highs were way to bright and overpowering.
What's the price?
$5,999.00
@viniciuseduardobomfim thank you so much, really appreciated.
If you had a choice to busy this or a Martin OM42 or ooo42 which would you choose.Any comments would be appreciated even a poll.
Trying to decide.
Not available for trial in my area so have to decide and import.
Did you fire Coops? Did you kill and eat him? Where is he? 🎸
Nice sounding. Good playing, Chris. The comfort factors are big plusses. Satin finish with lots of abalone doesn’t fit. Extra glitz on a non glitz finish. Should be gloss.Lastly, Taylor do a better job with the number/letter combinations.
Welcome to Alamo Taylor.....😒
