Ok...I started changing my diet. Besides having ibs and hypoglycemia, psych issues, and cholesterol issues from meds, I began changing my diet. I haven't seen a huge change but I have lost 8lbs in about 2 months. I'm huge on non gmo I'm also a forced vegetarian because my body began to just refuse to allow me to consume meat. Period. So I'm eating my way to losing weight by listening to Dr Hyman and hoping it works to get me down to pre baby weight. After I gave birth I got serious issues and worsening of issues I already had that haven't gone away and my son is 20 yrs old.
What you are doing for and sharing with the world is uniquely...miraculous in the whole world. I can not even begin to adequately thank you for what you make public to people like me that can not get into your center. Thank you so very, very much Doctor Hyman.
I grew up on butternut squash, which my family grew in our garden in the Sierra Nevada's. Let me assure you, it NEVER tasted like water! It's a delicious squash!

Doctors (most) like to sell medicines not an educate about food. Finally low carbohydrate diet making my health lot better these days. I used to eat bananas & oranges thinking healthy good food potassium everything etc but too much fructose which is not good for controlling weight. Now eat berries, strawberries which has low carb & sugar. Food is Basically natural medicine if you know which food you need to eat. Bullet proof coffee & fasting is also great help for me.
When you talked about flavoring the meat by what you feed it ahead of time. I had a dried venison jerky stick and had a huge insulin spike right afterwards on a CGM. All I can figure is that the animal was shot but not killed and they had to hunt it down with dogs and it had a very traumatic end. It was probably loaded with cortisol. Could I have reacted from high cortisol in the deer?
That oatmeal story had me laughing. Maybe oats in the US are full of glyphosate. Having consumed oatmeal for decades every day and also experimented with different grains. Oatmeal always won for me for satiation and energy. Make sure you don't get instant oatmeal, get big rolled oat flakes. Dont cook them, eat them "raw". They're steamed already. Add berries and ceylon cinnamon.

We distinguish between the negative and positive glucose...yin and yang. The reading from the glucometer is mostly negative sugar. We have to get rid of it. It's just like bad gasoline in a car. You need to load good sugar and exercise. I bring my glucose up to 180. After an hour depending what I do my glucose is 110. Because their age is compared to people who eat a lot of processed foods. They eat a lot of good foods which will make them healthier than the majority of the population. However, how much stronger and more vigorous would they be if they added high quality animal proteins in moderation? That's the real comparison.
Multifactorial: diet is one, they also have a big sense of community, they have a higher power they believe in (prayer, meditation etc makes a huge difference on your stress level), they also walk and are not sedentary.
Doctor my total cholesterol is 260, my Triglycerides are 150, my LDL is 189, my HDL is 42 and my ALT (SGPT) is 53. I’m 27 with a wife and 2 boys idk what to do. Unfortunately I also have sleep apnea I’m 5’6 and with 220.

Look up Tom Brady’s diet. It’s almost completely plant based. The recipes he shares are delicious! His breakfast every morning is a smoothie and it’s really easy and quick to make. He has a recipe for a vegan Cesar salad that is so so good!
Have a smoothie for breakfast, you can Google his recipe or look up Tom Brady’s, his is the one I have every morning. Have a bug salad for lunch, again, you can look up Tom Brady’s Cesar salad-it’s delicious. Have a lean protein like chicken or salmon or tofu with loads of veggies for dinner. It’s not as complicated as we make it. Just focus on getting as many plants in your diet as possible.
The majority of this is just hollow insight and doesn't truly give any solid advice/steps to start on this healing path, very frustrating. It all ends up being "read my book" or "see a functional medicine specialist", so many of us struggling don't have the funds or time to see specialists which leads to more tests, more specialists, etc. Record high inflation, high cost of living, sky rocketing medical costs in the US, all contributing to advice and treatments that aren't accessible to the middle/lower class :(.
It's not fast enough for anyone with autoimmune diseases. I had endometriosis till I was 35 and gor a hysterectomy. I'm not sure if it's gone but I had tht almost my entire life. They removed a lot from my large intestines I was told. I have so many issues I'm like an 80 year old woman and it's exhausting and traditional meds don't work and they don't care
