I've been watching all La Rumba videos on youtube. The rhythm guitar guy is by far the heart, the soul of this band ! So much joy brings to the band. Tremendous flamenco guitarist. Great musician! Much admiration and respect to you sir !

De la península ibérica llegaron a tierras sudamericanas muchos andaluces, trayendo consigo su música flamaneca al nuevo mundo. Y en la capital del virreinato, La ciudad de Los Reyes (Lima) fue introducida la guitarra como instrumento por excelencia para acompañar los cánticos populares de la población. Así mientras la alta sociedad se deleitaba de los conciertos de música clásica entre el piano, la flauta, los violines y demás instrumentos...las clases populares se jaraneaban con la naciente "música criolla" (Tondero, marinera, Vals criollo, polka criolla, festejo, aguaenieve, zamacueda, etc) Y en estas jaranas "de rompe y raja" limeñas, la guitarra fue la protagonista de las más grandes composiciones del cancionero peruano. Herencia obtenida de España y adoptada por Perú para darle música a la inspiración de los más grandes autores que pisaron suelo peruano.
Así que peruanos y españoles compartimos la misma pasión por lograr extraer de 6 cuerdas tensadas, las más hermosas melodías para alegrar nuestros días.

Controversia? La guitarra llegó a América traída por los conquistadores y en el caso del Perú tomó su propio estilo para ser parte del cancionero del país, estando presente en muchas de sus creaciones lugareñas llamadas "música criolla"
