About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Damon Albarn later revealed that the song "Sweet Song" was written after he had been looking at a photograph of Coxon.

This song is so hard to listen to.Brings up a weird feeling of peace combined with the frustration of a failed love.And the end, where that crazy sound comes in, just so powerful in a way that I will never be able to explain how. Congrats Damon Albarn for your talent of touching such sensitives strings..

Damon and Graham the perfect bromance story
The amount of times I've sobbed my eyes out to this song. It's cathartic in some ways, and painful in others.
the best song Damon has ever written. This is the sort of music that saves lives. Love you, Damon. Thank you for making music that I adore.
This is one of the reasons why Blur is the best band from their generation
There was another significant band I can’t remember the name of. They and Blur had quite a famous rivalry for a while. Damn what were they called this is going to drive me crazy.

I was being sarcastic of course I’m aware of oasis. The subtle point I was making is that Oasis and Blur were of the same generation. Oasis were the bigger and better band hence they were the best of that generation.

Loved this song 5 or so years ago, made a new main playlist 2 years later and somehow missed adding this one. Been relistening to Blur's discography and I couldn't believe I had forgotten of this song's existence. These lyrics hit so much harder now. It's never leaving my playlist again.

I have always thought that Damon has always had a great sensitivity and intelligence about his writing and singing. I think he learned that the caricature that he created in the 90s was simply not real, and did not suit who he was- look now at some of his contemporaries from that era, they are stuck and forever condemned to the cliches of that era . Damon isn’t and never has been stuck in that time- he has always evolved. I think it is to do with this insight and sensitivity you hear in this song.
What a brilliant song. Sounds completely original. If you're feeling good makes you feel happier. If you're feeling blue enhances that too.
Fun fact: this was the only song on the album to be produced (partly) by William Orbit. He was the guy who produced 13 and was famous (or infamous) for causing that album's large shift in sound from Blur's previous efforts.

@@johnharvey4448 I don't think so. Brothers And Sisters is quite the opposite of a junkie song. It literally says "Rebuild your lives". Damon had already given up on his unhealthy lifestyle at that point

This is probably not Blur's best song. It may not even be in their top 20. But it is, I believe, without a doubt their most beautiful song.

Just saw Gorillaz in Bost, four people back from center stage - Damon jumped into the crowd and I was RIGHT there - he seemed to shake EVERYONE'S hands but mine. :( Left me wondering why he didn't like me - Was I too old? Did he find me funny looking? Was I not singing along enough? Did he hold it against me that I was wearing a Radiohead shirt? :(

I just want to say i can't meet my bestfriend because of quarantine. Eventhough you're allowed to go outside wearing a mask her parents still don't allow her to go and we haven't met for 2 months. I really miss her because we shared the same views and had a lot in common in our personalities. I've never had it with someone before. And now because of the circumstances i can't see the only person who i truly need the most. We both didn't know when would be the last time of our meeting so this is makes everything even sadder. I think it has some parallel with graham and damon because graham started to appear on a studio more rare and when where was a last time he recorded with blur before leaving the band but same no one probably knew when would be the actual last time. Now i just listen to this song and battery in your leg and their lyrics has never been so close and so relatable for me as they are now
@maripicelli oh im so sorry about that i cried over the fact that i couldn't meet her and aslo listened to this song but eventually we met 2 or 3 weeks afters i wrote it and now we meet at least once a week so everything is fine again. I was afraid i was going to lose her because we couldn't communicate normally but now everything is good. I hope you will meet your friend soon ❤
