FINALLY!!! FINALLY!!!!! Someone shouts it out!!! The Oozers were NOT Candy People, they were freakin HUMANS!! Also, another thing I think you could’ve noted was that the Oozers actually have enhanced hearing abilities, since during Simon and Marcy, when Simon threw over the clambulance and it started making a ruckus, all of the dormant Oozers awoke from their slumber and literally started F*CKING SPRINTING AT THEM from miles away!!!!! Other than that I think this was one of your greatest videos yet, BY FAR! 😁💚💚💚 Also, I actually agree with your theory that The Lich used the Oozers as part of his undead army, seeing as the Oozers are the DIRECT result of the mutagenic radiation from the Mushroom Bomb which gave The Lich his original physical form. Furthermore they seem to secret a similar substance to the Green Goo within The Lich’s Well of Power which we now know was the explosion-site for where the bomb dropped. It would also make sense if the Oozers could be telepathically controlled by The Lich due to being affected by the Radiation of the Mushroom Bomb DIRECTLY. So yeah, The Oozers were definitely on The Lich’s side during his reign.
The quality of the videos is great, I also like the intros as they re not too long or repetitive. I'd like to see longer videos, maybe going over a few topics that go hand in hand or some that are more broad. Like going over the mushroom war as a whole not just the bomb and the oozers separately.
They are basically similar to the Ghouls from Fallout except I think their mutations might be worst because at least with Ghouls you have a chance to still be yourself
When i first saw the oozers in the Simon and Marcy flashback, it made me sick to the stomach to think that a human being could be twisted and corrupted to such an extent, truly horrifying

Same, I couldn't really watch an episode with the oozers without feeling disgust. And for me personally, the oozers might be the creepiest thing from Adventure time.
Maybe the mushroom war was just the Cold War’s finale in this universe, would make sense seeing as everything has kind of an 80s vibe when we see “our” time period

They are basically radioactive zombies Also, I have a theory that the humanoids we see in ooo that looks like humans but with green or blue skin are actually evolved versions of the oozers, like, their burn marks actually heal and recover their human aspect after 1000 thousand years. That also explains why characters such as Billy, Tiffany, Shoko, warrior princess and Clarence look so much as humans, they probably decent from the oozers. This will explain how we see some their versions as regular humans in farmworld dimension
You're half right. It's already been pretty much confirmed that the vast amount of "Magical" creatures are just humans mutated by radiation and magic. For example, Choose Goose and Billy who originally were supposed to be just Humans. They don't descend from Oozers but do descend from mutated ancestors.

One thing I appreciate about Adventure Time is how, since these creatures aren't depicted as outright frightening, it allows their concept to be frightening instead. We're not looking at a monster, we're looking at the nightmarish remains of one of our own.
The other elementals weren't in a primordial state, they were just regular dudes whose powers were limited by the non magic world. Patience literally talked to them all over coffee before freezing herself

One thing that I noticed in the episode where Simon and Marcy are chased by the oozers is that, to me at least, they don't appear to be hostile. Throughout the episode they move after them and try to reach out and grab them, but if you look at they body language, it doesn't seem to be aimed at attacking them and even seemed to want to help them after a fashion. I was wondering if anyone else reached that same conclusion or not, and if so, what the implications would be.

@00Mavrek000 He's saying that it doesn't matter what they're intentions are. Rabid or peaceful, their bodies are still mutagenic and contagious from direct contact so they're still dangerous. Even the slightest touch would be harmful with how fast bacteria and stuff can multiply and spread.

As a kid, I always love the oozers because they have so many similarities like zombies and found it pretty scary. I really liked this Adventure Time video explained stuff, hope you could hop on other shows as well.
A possible explanation on why Oozers have no eyes but still see could be that they have magical sight. It was mentioned that the mushroom bomb was created using a combination of human technology and magic. So its a bit of an unsatisfying answer, but maybe its just *MAGIC*
Something interesting about it is how oozer James is what merged the other james' together. This is a base that is very different from their base nature as just zombies. A property that has the capability of drastically change the form of life without really harming it. It's kinda similar to candy in that way, where a loss of a limb or being morphed isnt much of a problem. This is a property that seems to have much potential to it that PB or someone else might try to tap into if not just to understand how a non candy lifeform can do this
Uhh, I wouldn’t say Oozer James specifically was the cause of the merger. He is candy just like every other version of James. Candy to its truest nature revolves around absolute joy and bliss, but it also involves absolute assimilation. The Elementals arc showcases this with PB consistently trying to turn Finn, Jake and anyone not candy into a candy person. Another example is how PB needed candy biomass to contribute to her development to adulthood again to usurp her throne from Lemongrab. Outside of Gumbalds cabin is Lake Butterscotch. While not radioactive, it is still an example of candy over taking the area around it. Their is a cider pond which may also be neighboring the Candy Kingdom. When PB was in the development of the candy kingdom, she had her guards/citizens fill the radioactive streams with candy. This is all again pointing to candies true nature. It overcame, quite possibly even, assimilated the toxic waste we saw in the stream. The same waste that heavily mutated Shoko was turned straight into the safe stream we see today. The James copies overwhelmed Oozing James which is inherent to their candy nature, not to the Oozing monsters. Oozing James himself is also compromised of candy which would shake the foundation of such assimilation being attributed solely to the Oozing infection.

The mushroom war lore is just so fascinating because of the lore and how little we know about and all the military equipment and prewar ruins in adventure time
I don’t believe there was a singular “Mushroom Bomb” that ended the world, I think the one that Simon stopped in Farmworld was just the first strike that triggered global nuclear war.
I don't think that's the case. As in farm world (Where the original bomb was stopped) there wasn't a single example of obvious mutants and magic to the point where the very idea was foreign to people. Not to mention, I don't think they had multiple bombs that contained the essence of the Lich
I think in the BMO episode from Distant Lands there's a flashback and we see like 2 mushroom bombs and a big plasma explosion that made the iconic hole on the planet.

But you make a good point, in Farm World only one bomb was shown to be frozen by Simon, and the world didn’t change very radically because of it. In real life, if one nation dropped a bomb, all other nations would be sure to follow- Which seems to imply the one single bomb was special, and the other several hundred bombs were regular nukes
Throwing my hat in here. Alternatively, the bomb that started it all (lich bomb) only set off the chain reaction of a mass nuking WHEN the lich bomb went off. The nations were waiting to see a mushroom cloud before retaliating, hoping the bomb was a fluke to scare them into surrender or cooperation. Instead, the bomb was frozen, and so no others were dropped as the first cloud never formed, and the nations could only assume it was a fluke.
Thinking about how the Bomb that killed the world had the Lich's escence from his commet, it's curious that any life at all survived the attack. Species that don't adapt or evolve to problems die, so perhaps because of how extreme the effect of the bomb was (since it was magical in nature) it made it so species had to wildly evolve to survive, probably some what explaining any weird species that aren't direct result of the magic or abilities of other species
Actually how did Ooo even happen bruh💀 The Lich was rumming around for like 800+ years free reign to destroy all life on earth and somehow kingdoms were formed and lived peacefully?? What was bro doing for all that time, just waiting for Billy to kick his ass?🤣

I was wanting to mention this as well. Candy might be a neutralizing element to ooz. EG the Jamess stopped oozer James. They became a distorted amalgamation afterwards but the ooz was either contained inside the James, or diluted enough to prevent the spread of the oozification of the group of James. We see oozers with multiple heads, I was thinking that like James, when exposed to the ooz beings merge to become singular oozers.
I remembered the Oozers when I was a little kid. When I saw that episode it gave me nightmares for weeks for some reason, even though I saw really zombie horror movies but something about the Oozers felt...unsettling.
I like to think they see with some sort of photosensitive cells that they've developed from the bomb giving them rudimentary sight, basically just differences in light and sensing movement. Kind of like parietal eyes on chameleons Though that is completely just speculation based on nothing other than 'I think it would be cool'
I love Oozers so much. They’re such a varied and fascinating creature. I use them in my own post-apocalyptic fiction, unrelated to adventure time. They’re so cool i hope they eventually become generic nuclear zombies like ghouls from Fallout.
Great stuff. Just a quick point- you said the elementals weren’t around except for the ice elemental, but remember they were all around. She tried to convince them to join her in that flashback episode, but they didn’t want to break the cycle, so she froze herself while they died and were reincarnated. That’s probably why, when she wakes up in Oo, she eventually mind-controls the current elementals into going along with her plans (in season 8).
Now thats i idea that i love, a original creature insanily mutated and out of control, while still conscious, not being able to do nothing but attack everyone, including the ones they love. Kinda crazy to think about it, this show was dark
As the trope says candyland is a crapsack world covered in cute colors and literally candy to hide the mind numbing horror for a kids show. Episodes like this really are meant to scare the crap out of you and make you think, and woo boy what a episode.

I'd imagine that since they are directly related to the Lich, they probably see using magic since the Lich doesn't always seem to have eyes in the conventional sense.
I remember watching this show, I loved it.. and the fact that such a kid show can be so In-depth and contain way more lore than anticipated is so surprising.
When I was a kid and I first saw the episode with the oozers, I was freaking terrified. I have always terrified of zombies as a concept. A figure you can somewhat recognize, that may recognize you, but has no way to stop themselves from obeying their predatory instincts or the hive mind. I liked adventure time, but after that episode, I was really stressed out and scared just hearing the intro when in my room because of that episode. Same thing with the Johnny Test episode with the zombies for Valentines day and the other zombie episodes of Adventure Time. I remember one where everyone in the candy kingdom was turning into zombies. They were much paler and had weird greenish eyes and deformed facial features. In that episode, Jake was bitten but he said it was fine because he could keep walking around a table to extend his arm so the infection wouldn't reach his body, but was turned because he was exhausted.
I always though the oozers sensed movement around them through an advanced vibration sense. Sensing vibrations on the air around them and using the vibrations from their own movement to moved them around their environment.

I would like to give you a video ideia. It's about the forms or shapes that appear in Golb's head. These shapes appears in others episodes, both in the guards of the Candy Kingdom. The first time is in the fist episode in the scene where Finn is asked a mathematical question. The other episode is the one where Finn's hat gains life and possesses one of the guardians. yeah the very first episode also shows PB's experiments, there are even more iirc But I'm just mentioning because you only mentioned episode "James" and I think they can see through a radiation scan or otherwise a thermography scan
Perhaps their perception is gained from a magical element which could also explain why they came from the mushroom bomb as well as there ability to infect others that aren't similar in biology~

When I saw this show first time I thought about an theory that's really similar to what you just say. Like a War started between nations in the ≈1980s , a country used the bomb against the other and this area was been left for all that time , all things around the city and even the city changed by the effect of chemicals Some people were there before the bomb explosion , like the vampire ... (I don't know if Bemo and his factory was there or just developed after the bomb).
I thought it was obvious they were humans, the biggest question I had was what happened to the oozers, like wheee did they go. I guess I just missed the episode where they find them underground.

What makes the main elementals special seems to be the power to reach the "ultimate forms" that transform the land like we see in the Elements series

Well, intentionally harmful or not, the end result is the same. A horrible gruesome death followed by a mutation and becoming a semi sentient zombie.

As a kid, I always love the oozers because they have so many similarities like zombies and found it pretty scary. I really liked this Adventure Time video explained stuff, hope you could hop on other shows as well.

A possible explanation on why Oozers have no eyes but still see could be that they have magical sight. It was mentioned that the mushroom bomb was created using a combination of human technology and magic. So its a bit of an unsatisfying answer, but maybe its just *MAGIC*

Something interesting about it is how oozer James is what merged the other james' together. This is a base that is very different from their base nature as just zombies. A property that has the capability of drastically change the form of life without really harming it. It's kinda similar to candy in that way, where a loss of a limb or being morphed isnt much of a problem. This is a property that seems to have much potential to it that PB or someone else might try to tap into if not just to understand how a non candy lifeform can do this

Uhh, I wouldn’t say Oozer James specifically was the cause of the merger. He is candy just like every other version of James. Candy to its truest nature revolves around absolute joy and bliss, but it also involves absolute assimilation. The Elementals arc showcases this with PB consistently trying to turn Finn, Jake and anyone not candy into a candy person.
Another example is how PB needed candy biomass to contribute to her development to adulthood again to usurp her throne from Lemongrab.
Outside of Gumbalds cabin is Lake Butterscotch. While not radioactive, it is still an example of candy over taking the area around it. Their is a cider pond which may also be neighboring the Candy Kingdom.
When PB was in the development of the candy kingdom, she had her guards/citizens fill the radioactive streams with candy. This is all again pointing to candies true nature. It overcame, quite possibly even, assimilated the toxic waste we saw in the stream. The same waste that heavily mutated Shoko was turned straight into the safe stream we see today. The James copies overwhelmed Oozing James which is inherent to their candy nature, not to the Oozing monsters. Oozing James himself is also compromised of candy which would shake the foundation of such assimilation being attributed solely to the Oozing infection.
@@chuckingreaper8654 I think the candy consumption thing is more just PB's thing. She was always kinda a control freak. Whereas the previous candy elementals seemed pretty chill. The consumption thing seems to also be said about all the other elements, especially slime.
just like tiberium from command and conquer, the tiberium crystal can transform carbon lofeforms into tiberium lifeforms... but can sometimes kill them tho

I don’t believe there was a singular “Mushroom Bomb” that ended the world, I think the one that Simon stopped in Farmworld was just the first strike that triggered global nuclear war.
I don't think that's the case. As in farm world (Where the original bomb was stopped) there wasn't a single example of obvious mutants and magic to the point where the very idea was foreign to people.
Not to mention, I don't think they had multiple bombs that contained the essence of the Lich
I think in the BMO episode from Distant Lands there's a flashback and we see like 2 mushroom bombs and a big plasma explosion that made the iconic hole on the planet.

But you make a good point, in Farm World only one bomb was shown to be frozen by Simon, and the world didn’t change very radically because of it. In real life, if one nation dropped a bomb, all other nations would be sure to follow- Which seems to imply the one single bomb was special, and the other several hundred bombs were regular nukes
Throwing my hat in here. Alternatively, the bomb that started it all (lich bomb) only set off the chain reaction of a mass nuking WHEN the lich bomb went off. The nations were waiting to see a mushroom cloud before retaliating, hoping the bomb was a fluke to scare them into surrender or cooperation. Instead, the bomb was frozen, and so no others were dropped as the first cloud never formed, and the nations could only assume it was a fluke.
Thinking about how the Bomb that killed the world had the Lich's escence from his commet, it's curious that any life at all survived the attack. Species that don't adapt or evolve to problems die, so perhaps because of how extreme the effect of the bomb was (since it was magical in nature) it made it so species had to wildly evolve to survive, probably some what explaining any weird species that aren't direct result of the magic or abilities of other species

@@orbboom6119 probably the same way the elemental princesses took time to take form after the apocalypse, the lich probably needed time to take a physical form, and after that the Billy kicking his butt happened a short time after that

I was wanting to mention this as well. Candy might be a neutralizing element to ooz. EG the Jamess stopped oozer James. They became a distorted amalgamation afterwards but the ooz was either contained inside the James, or diluted enough to prevent the spread of the oozification of the group of James. We see oozers with multiple heads, I was thinking that like James, when exposed to the ooz beings merge to become singular oozers.

I remembered the Oozers when I was a little kid. When I saw that episode it gave me nightmares for weeks for some reason, even though I saw really zombie horror movies but something about the Oozers felt...unsettling.

seeing the Oozers melting almost anything and can break and bend steel I think its one of the reasons why Human Militarie's lost the war
I like to think they see with some sort of photosensitive cells that they've developed from the bomb giving them rudimentary sight, basically just differences in light and sensing movement. Kind of like parietal eyes on chameleons
Though that is completely just speculation based on nothing other than 'I think it would be cool'

I love Oozers so much. They’re such a varied and fascinating creature. I use them in my own post-apocalyptic fiction, unrelated to adventure time. They’re so cool i hope they eventually become generic nuclear zombies like ghouls from Fallout.
Great stuff. Just a quick point- you said the elementals weren’t around except for the ice elemental, but remember they were all around. She tried to convince them to join her in that flashback episode, but they didn’t want to break the cycle, so she froze herself while they died and were reincarnated. That’s probably why, when she wakes up in Oo, she eventually mind-controls the current elementals into going along with her plans (in season 8).
Now thats i idea that i love, a original creature insanily mutated and out of control, while still conscious, not being able to do nothing but attack everyone, including the ones they love.

As the trope says candyland is a crapsack world covered in cute colors and literally candy to hide the mind numbing horror for a kids show. Episodes like this really are meant to scare the crap out of you and make you think, and woo boy what a episode.

I'd imagine that since they are directly related to the Lich, they probably see using magic since the Lich doesn't always seem to have eyes in the conventional sense.
People thought they where candy people? It was so obvious that they where human that it baffles me that others didn’t even take notice on that.

I remember watching this show, I loved it.. and the fact that such a kid show can be so In-depth and contain way more lore than anticipated is so surprising.
When I was a kid and I first saw the episode with the oozers, I was freaking terrified. I have always terrified of zombies as a concept. A figure you can somewhat recognize, that may recognize you, but has no way to stop themselves from obeying their predatory instincts or the hive mind. I liked adventure time, but after that episode, I was really stressed out and scared just hearing the intro when in my room because of that episode. Same thing with the Johnny Test episode with the zombies for Valentines day and the other zombie episodes of Adventure Time. I remember one where everyone in the candy kingdom was turning into zombies. They were much paler and had weird greenish eyes and deformed facial features. In that episode, Jake was bitten but he said it was fine because he could keep walking around a table to extend his arm so the infection wouldn't reach his body, but was turned because he was exhausted.
I always though the oozers sensed movement around them through an advanced vibration sense. Sensing vibrations on the air around them and using the vibrations from their own movement to moved them around their environment.
The at lore always intrensed me , im new at your channel and its my first video that I wathc in your channel so did you made a video of the entire lore ?

Perhaps their perception is gained from a magical element which could also explain why they came from the mushroom bomb as well as there ability to infect others that aren't similar in biology~
To put it simply they're radioactive zombies. Though, it does feel like there is something different and unique about them. They stand out quite a lot to me.

When I saw this show first time I thought about an theory that's really similar to what you just say.
Like a War started between nations in the ≈1980s , a country used the bomb against the other and this area was been left for all that time , all things around the city and even the city changed by the effect of chemicals
Some people were there before the bomb explosion , like the vampire ...

How can princess Bubblegum be the elemental when there's candy people? It's possible that there can be multiple elementals but there's always the leader who's connection to it is significantly higher in comparison (Also I know she made a good many of them I'm just using them as an example)

It's based on the idea that Ooo is more dense with magic energy than the earth was in most other time periods, allowing for some creatures to be comprised entirely out of fire without being *THE* fire elemental. What makes the main elementals special seems to be the power to reach the "ultimate forms" that transform the land like we see in the Elements series

I kinda always suspected that adventure time took place in the aftermath of ww3 and as the show progressed and many hints were given my suspicions proved correct but damn those oozers are terrifying especially when it’s shown they use to be living breathing humans.
