Much appreciated. I had one laying around so I decided to order a screen. I think you are the only one with a screen replacement video, this phone seems rare these days even though it's old, I just don't think they made that many.

Glad you appreciated it. Well I hope you able to fix it yourself. Like I said, the part is really expensive

Big thanks for this video. No repair shop here in the southern part of Sweden wants to take on this device. I have the same damage to my screen with a bleed issue that ended up covering the whole screen. (Went from a small blob in the upper left corner to a fully dark blue covered screen over a couple of days). This was after i dropped it onto a fairly soft wooden surface and it wasn't visible until the day after. To send it away for repairs seem to be very expensive, almost the same price as the device itself. So I'll try to repair it myself. Hopefully it'll work out great. In any case I'll learn something while doing it. The video is super helpful. Giving me some confident in the procedure of repairing.

Awesome to hear. I hope your fix turns out great. Just remember to set aside 2 to 3 hours in a quiet room, and be patient and take your time. If you get frustrated then take a break. Thank you for the comment

I had the exact same failure. I read it was oxygen that was oxidizing the AMOLED, I sealed the edges with a clear coat style hobby paint, but it still covers 1/4 of the screen. Don't know if I will replace the screen at this point.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It has helped me a lot to open the cell case and replace the lcd/digitizer part only. I didn't have to remove the battery and bottom part because the lcd/digitizer connector slides through a slot behind the motherboard. It was not easy though to remove the lcd/digitizer from the frame itself. Fortunately, there were these two sticky white bands that I removed the same way you did for the battery. Again, thank you so much, I appreciate, since there are no useful videos about the AR on youTube except yours. Take care!

Thanks very much, I repaired my Asus successfully with your help. My new screen came with almost everything, didn't have to take out much of the old one. Bought at AliExpress. Used some artic paste because mine was too dry on old screen.

Great video friend! I just found out that the replacement screen is anywhere from $160 to $200 bucks, while a refurb replacement via Verizon insurance is only $140.. So, I'm going to play the screen swap game in order to save my data before swapping back and surrendering the broken Zenfone AR. This video is going to be very valuable in my process. Thanks again.

Fantastic! Thank you. While the Zenfone AR is an oddity, I really loved it until I discovered that the screen replacement required a module priced at $450. I miss the fabulous camera. I may order this part and give this a shot. Or send it your way, I lack tools and am all thumbs.

Thanks for making this! My Zenfone display broke last year and there is almost no information on repairs. May I ask where you bought the display? That's another thing that is hard to find.

The screen that I bought for this particular fix is no longer available. The last time I did this fix, I had to order from China which I don't suggest. You just have to Search on eBay for it, and look at feedback score of seller, return policy, and reviews.

Aye, I ended up buying a bricked AR for around $115, YMMV but it seems to work. Having some issues with the back and hope button that I haven't sussed out yet,

Hopefully this will help other viewers:
Essentially it requires reboot: hold power button and down volume button (until you see the screen logo), then it should be fine.
Warning: this is supposedly a factor reboot, meaning setting it to the prepurchase state.
    This fixed mine to normal.

My ASUS ZenFone AR is not responding into anything 3 days now. Tried to charge overnight but indicator light didn't illuminated.
Sometimes vibrates when turning on but staying not working.
I have no clue why it's not working.
Is there any possible solution in this case?
