Most people emphasize on skill moves, knowing what type of shot to choose when finishing, when the first and most important piece of knowledge is how to think the game. You're the first person I've seen so far mentioning scanning the field, when to do it and how to do it. It is certainly what I was truly lacking the most and what I need to train on. I coach football and i’ve always tried to apply the same principles to FIFA. I made the guide a couple of years (posted on reddit) back based on my thoughts when i started coaching but only recently remade in into a video. I’m working on doing the same for the other guides i’ve done. When i’m finished with them i’m going to sit down and try to elaborate on them more. Saw this tutorial yesterday and it helped so much, the amount of passes I have in game and accuracy went up as I no longer go for risky passes unless I'm in the final third. I'd love to watch another tutorial from you for defending as most teach partial press, etc instead of the basics. Still gotta learn what to do in the final third as my shots get blocked/my player gets tackled right before I shoot but these tips helped my build up a lot. Overall very good tutorial, definitely subbing :D

this playstyle is exactly how i play fifa as well regardless of watever changes to the meta or 'meta formation'.. i stick to my trusted 4222 since fifa 22 and never change anything..nice!
your appreciation of space in and around the box is brilliant...i find that once i progress to the opps box there are so many defenders squeezing the space that i dont even consider those 3 yard passes to a man in space on the 6 yard line, the way you were passing there takes all the risk out of shooting as the goals are virtual tap ins...incredibly impressive and such a simple style

I trigger almost all runs manually, but i’m planning on making an in-depth guide on my tactics and how i incorporate the instructions/tactics in my game seeing as a few have asked.
This is literally impossible for me as I live in New Zealand and I'm 4000km from the nearest server the input delay and high ping just ruins everything can't even do first time passes

Great video! I had been honing my skill moves all this time and I reached a point where I could get past the midfield but never created chances to finish and score. Scanning the field, creating triangles, instructing runs, switching play to the wings, when I combined this with my current skills I managed to beat a full meta squad with pele, jairzinho, Messi, mbappe in fut champs! Love the analysis style of video that you’ve made! Hoping for more content
Would you show your passing settings etc? I think it matters a lot, because your passes look very clean and strong. I have problem with passes they are often slow and first time passes are joke to me. It would be nice to see tutorial how to actually make good quality pass (accuracy and power)
Yeah sure, i’ve got everythin on assisted. But Passes are slow for me aswell sometimes. I think the reason my passes look clean and strong is because i try to play like in the tips. For example if you watch each clip indivdually, you can apply all 4 check marks and it works. This style has kind of become a habit to me. It has to be natural in my eyes, so If it’s a pass i wouldn’t be able to do in real life, i wouldn’t try it in FIFA. The power and accuracy is interesting, accuracy can be annoying with the game because it’s inconsistent, but i could definitely look into making a short (don’t think it has to be a long video) regarding the power, seeing as it does make a huge difference this year.
1 tip is to use driven a pass followed by a normal one touch pass. That can give you both momentum and accuracy as spamming driven passes can reduce pass accuracy as they are less consistent. Tip 2 is to always make sure you are passing on your players strong foot and facing the direction of the pass or at least within 45 degrees.
What is advice when gameplay is so disgustingly horrible that 50% of normal passes don't go to a player. Or when the opponent is using pressure the entire game and no one is open and your attacking AI doesn't think to make simple runs behind for through balls.
Good video however i like alot of others find first time passes are horrendous especially with full back or in the middle of the park. You seem to first time pass alot crisp everytime. I also find that the gameplay speed varies massively yet every time somebody like yourself uploads a video the game speed is high and crisp. Could you upload a video of what to do with your gameplay when this is happening and your touch and movement is so slow?
hey man, some of the clips in the video have slow gameplay aswell. The tips in the video, and my general playstyle is all about putting myself in situations where the the gameplay doesn't really affect how i want to play. But if it's really bad i just play abit slower, while still using the same ideas.
Its been said, but I'll confirm. You are the best out there. There is no equivalent on TH-cam of your analysis of football applied to FIFA. It makes the game fun, challenging but interesting. Every loses get to be something you can cherish, as they give you great lessons to how to improve. You’re on point. I manually call runs alot, usually when releasing the ball with L1+pass or by using L1/R1 when holding the ball. I don’t really like when they make runs themselves, i prefer to controll it which is why i play slow-build up an possesion.

I always feel angry and lost my control when I feel EA scripted my game and leading me to terrible results. Can you suggest me how to avoid it? I dropped 3 controllers for this game.
Personally i prefer to make runs manually. Forward runs make it so they basically run straight, never in diagonal directions. Manual runs can be directed
My thing is I need to learn when to send players on runs I get so caught up in trying to create movement in my offense that I often end up leaving myself stranded with no passing options
I play Madden and FIFA regularly. I came across a channel just like yours a couple of years ago (XandOfootball) he explains concepts just like you. He incorporates the concepts of the game into the video game and makes you 10 times better because of this, not just follow a META that may be patched a month later. It’s sad the game doesn’t represent real football well at times. There is no reason to have a 3 man midfield in this game because the AI in a two man midfield is way too strong.
I'm not a baby I'm 43 and it's been tough to get to where I am now which is seasons div 3/4. I won't compromise on my style, I won't do the same thing all the time or score sweaty goals (I try to where it's genuinely the right option). I feel I lose to a lot of meta players who know I'm better in defence and more attractive in attack so when I heard what you were saying I knew I'd found my home. 1 sub. It's late. But soon I'll watch more.

Quick tip is just don't pass. If someone isn't actively pressing you, you can move up by dribbling WITHOUT sprinting. Force him to move into you!
