Just popped in to say I'm very biased... but huge fan of v3 ;) Great vid!
Thanks Toby. I’m a big fan of your channel! We should collab sometime?! Also if ever in Cape Town… let me know!
@@sketchybrett drop me an email :) I'm forever busy at the moment, but always happy to chat!
I love sketching to painting... Find little messy
Great idea to show the 3 levels of lines. A little trick... if you run out of ink with just a few inches of line left to draw. Dip the tip of the nib in a little drop of water, it will dissolve the last bit of ink left and allow you to make that last little inch you need.
That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
The tutorial I didn't know I needed! This was so helpful and awesome. I always wondered about the most basic element - the line! Thank you so much for this.
I’m so glad this was helpful! Really appreciate the feedback.
Interesting video, great to see the different styles. I find the loose style much easier and I’m happy with my results. I think the neater version takes a greater level of skill in which I am lacking.
Thanks. So glad you enjoyed it. It’s so interesting that different people find different approaches easier or harder. Some people find the loose sketching so much harder. Thanks for sharing!
Excited to see the colour!!!
Busy with the edit now. Dropping next Tuesday 🎨
I have tremoes, so this was a great video.
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting, I’ve read & heard of loose but, now I’ve seen it in practice Thanks look forward to painting hope to learn more about bandied about phrases. As a beginner so many new terms.
Glad you enjoyed it. Are there any phrases or jargon you need help with?
Brilliant explanation! Blessings from across the pond. Subscribed. 👍

You're welcome!
Inspiring and useful. Thanks.
My pleasure!
great tutorial thank you
Glad you liked it!
I really enjoyed the video, with all the different styles. Could you say a little something about perspective. I get it perfect in one place, and then wonky right next to that.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Sure I'll do a video on perspective with a focus on maintaining it as you move through the composition.

Hey Brett, just stumbled upon your channel and left a sub. Which nib are you using in the Lamy Safari and which document ink?
Thanks so much for the sub! I have a few nibs and they are really easy to change between. I was using the fine nib here and speedball ink. I also use Windsor & Newtown ink often.
A very useful video. Thanks ! Let me point out a small typing mistake ! In the thumbnail of the video, it is written 'Skteching'. If possible you can correct !
Yes, you are right, thanks. Glad the video offered value to you!
Hey Brett where in RSA (generally) are you based? Regards from a watercolorist in PMB, KZN
Hey! I’m based in Cape Town. Will be in PMB end July to race the Motocross Nationals
