I think the museum should be a separate building by itself or in a park since most museum buildings around the world are like that too.

Parisian Restaurant on the left, and Boutique Hotel on the left seems the best in my head, break up the space on either side of the museum and really make it a centerpiece

I think the Police Station (left) and Museum (right) is good.

A lot of museums have a green space around them, or a courtyard area. Maybe experiment a little with your streetscaping.

I bet that botanical garden modular MOC would look incredible next to it

I have my museum with the jazz club on the left and the blue house of the bookshop modular on the right. This is probably the most visually appealing display option for the modulars I have on hand

I am thinking of doing the museum with the hotel on the left and the jazz club on the right in my city since my sister scored 3 really important parts for my collection for Christmas I also might do the Cinima on the right and Diner on the left but we will need to see. Those are my 2 choices after knowing my sister got me the 2 hard to get parts to finish my downtown by Christmas and all I will need now is 2 parts to finish a retrain and all lego projects of the past 3 years will be done. This will mean I will be able to just build a non-stop next year. I have such a backlog it's sad.

I think the Museum is just too small scale wise. In real life a building like that would be huge. Nobody seems to have mentioned this in any videos?

Yeah you’re right, but with such a high price tag already I think it would be a bit too costly. It shouldn’t be hard though to enlarge both width and height with a little bit of custom work. 😉

@@thegreenbrick that's true, it's a great set don't get me wrong, I just think it was a poor choice of Lego's to release it as a modular. I'm sure they would've had other designs to choose from.

@@MarcusTDM Hmmmm. Yeah maybe it could have been a larger stand-alone Icons set without the Modular Buildings Collection tag and they released something different for the Modular line. Hey, I’m down for more LEGO buildings!!

@@thegreenbrickand I've got plenty to buy before needing to get the museum! It's still on the list though! Great video by the way.

This is true of more than a few Lego structures: things tend to get scaled down and abstracted dramatically. You have to supend a lot of disbelief since they're toys and not scale models. Realistically sized minifig-scale hotels, police stations, museums etc. would be massive and cost a fortune. For example, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History is over 1.5 million square feet. I shudder to think how huge a Lego set representing even a fraction of that would be.
