But probably the best part about it was that of ALL characters to take home the first place prize, it was a Goldlewis player? Dude this tournament was so hype. I can’t remember ever going this nuts watching an FGC event before. My wife don’t know shit about Strive and she was even cheering Apologyman on during those clutch rounds.

Bro, Vineeth really went wild. He may have had the cleanest play of the tournament. Congrats to Gobou, but I think had the brackets went differently and Apologyman didn't end up against Diaphone, he may have won the whole thing.
on one hand he had insanely clean matches, but against diaphone, he couldn’t close out multiple rounds and would lose because of some mistakes or freeze up even with large life leads. but yeah on another day, he surely would’ve made grand finals and would maybe take it all (even tho gobou almost seemed too prepared for everything)

@@BlueDragon7100 personally haven’t had much experience in the mu since the last patch. but i feel like it’s close to even with potential to sway in either characters slight favor. seen sonicsol say it was in faust’s favor, but also recently saw daru beat nage in a ft10 pretty convincingly. but both characters are very oppressive when they get going so i agree that’s it tough

The only reason people call goldlewis lowteir is probably cuz he looses some match ups insanely hard but his okay and good matchups he can very easily dominant
more than match ups i think its the very good offense compared to his very bad defense, against good players its hard to goldlewis to start his win condition
The biggest problem with Goldlewis is that he has no good buttons in nuetral. Against characters like Nago who have multiple 5 frame buttons it's downright impossible to get in and do damage.
