This is a solid choice. If you didn't start another project you'd have episodes 70 to 105 of "Ryan English Wheels Something", not that I wouldn't love watching it. I kinda hope 2025 launches you into a full time TH-camr, this channel is hugely under rated. On a side note, my uncle had a Karmann Ghia he bought new, so I'm doubled down on being a fan boy of this channel.
If the kid became a full time You Tuber they’d have to find someone to do the Translog wide body builds. Real coach builders are far and few between these days. Particularly getting one to move to York.
Started as rear engine, then was converted for mid-engine, and now you're going front-engined ... I like to imagine a future where someone puts all three engines in it.
One of these days I need to get a 944. Always loved that body style. Maybe sometime you guys could do a 944 with an updated body style. It’d be cool to see one with a 21st century vibe.
Can't wait to see you guys take both of these to the track when they're finished! 😍😍😍 Hope you'll also include some ease-of-use features, like putting the engine shutoff and other features in the spots most easy to reach, optimizing the tie-down placement for transport over bumpy roads, ....
Super excited to see where this new build goes. This is definitely more my speed than the 1950's car. Also I love Ryan's energy but I could never work with him and don't know how Tony keeps his sanity 😆
As I said before: You guys are amazing! That "comparison" between cars, is exactly what we did, in our firm with motorcycles. Taking a photo against a white background and asking the customer:"How would You like Your bike to look like". Then, printed out the "which list" including the colour, we built it, from scratch, or existing bike. As said, this, will be interesting. Keep going! from a Finn in Diaspora
Thank you for great vids and projects!🎉 Any chance we get a video of your favorite daily drivers? The cars you find most interesting AND reliable. That would be awesome 🤩
DUDE YES this is so rad im excited to watch yall build another car!! You guys are the most underrated and inspiring channel makes me wanna work on my truck ❤❤❤
The only answer is a 5cylinder 07k swap. I'm doing it on mine and it fits so perfectly. I'll even come help lol. It takes boost really well and unopened can make your power goal of 350 without any issues
I am looking forward to this! I mean Jigsaw is my favourite weekly watch… but I totally understand where you are at and this makes a lot of sense to me!!!
when you say "the body will fit with some modifications" for some reason what sprang to my mind was that absolutely ridiculously wide hill climb A110 powered by a Kawasaki Ninja engine.
For many reasons tying together… a 5 cylinder audi engine ticks a lot of boxes here… the fact 944 used the audi transaxel, the noise a 5pot makes, available power gains for low costs, durability etc against that tiny body i think is a win and stays almost OE for parts sourcing too ❤ Not my car but id be keeping the 5cyl on the table as a viable option for sure
@@KaosProject21 yes i was thinking that. there is no transaxle system with aircooled engine. and you want less weight in the back. so the challenge is to attach an straight gearbox. should be possible with adapter
I love Karmen Gea coup's not a fan of the convertible version but the coup is one of my favorite cars!!!! Always wanted to build a bad ass mid engine version not concerned about stock look! Im definitely not a fan of the 944s never could get past the ass end of one now the one you are using was pretty cool looking though dint have that god awful bubble back lol cant wait to see the next one
I’m not feeling the body swap choice but I support the channel. It’s def different though and will be unique. To bad you didn’t have a Datsun 280z around but once again ppl have made them drift cars already.
I’m reminded of that scene in Taladega Nights when Ricky Bobby’s kids find out that they’re getting a divorce and they both yell out “TWO CHRISTMASES!”
slap a 13b rotary in that thing, those are great engines. You could do a carbed 12a, those would be way easier on electronics, although they're not super high hp.
Personally if you love the Porsche Boxer engine like I do, I'd go with the Subaru version of it as it will cost less and parts will be more available for it.
Definitely an O7K. Mainly because that’s what I intend to put in my 71 Karmann Ghia and I would love for you to be the guinea pig so I can just duplicate what you did (if it works).
I know this may not be a popular opinion but if it was me I would put in a 2.7 ecoboost, they are smaller and have a lot of power opportunity, but again just my 2 cents.
So this may sound like a crazy idea for engine.. but what about a v6 out of a Camry? They are roughly 300hp and rock solid reliable and super easy to find.

The Gandalf shift staff BELONGS in a drift car.
Turbo 5-cylinder! Awesome project

Build it to a pro drift rule book so when you want to pass it on it can retain some value.
Started as rear engine, then was converted for mid-engine, and now you're going front-engined ... I like to imagine a future where someone puts all three engines in it.
wat... wat...
as some one who use to Drift the hell out of a Karmen Ghia in forza and use to troll people i love this.
18:16 "If i don't have to Im not going to touch it." Spoken like a parent 😂 Joking aside I'm super excited for this project!
Splitting up the project videos was a great idea. As much as I enjoy the jigsaw it was getting slow. Keep up the great work guys.

For the engine if you want you can take a look at the 07k swap from Volkswagen, it would be quite cool and it feels like it would fit your needs
O7k (there are already kits for it) plus Beautiful 5 cylinder screaming in your ears.
This, pick up a rabbit 2.5 on the cheap.
@finboyYYC or out of one of many, many jettas with that 5cyl too, right? Mk5 gen iirc?
The 07k is such a good engine. I agree with this.
I’m really looking forward to this new project. Both the 944 & Ghia are on my dream garage list.
A Buick 3800 would fit nicely 😁
Can't wait to see you guys take both of these to the track when they're finished! 😍😍😍

Awesome build. Karmann Ghia is my all time favourite.
Love this, I would definitely change the door bars! Those are way over kill and much too difficult to get in and out of.
@@myurcek05 that’s definitely going to happen. I’d feel a lot safer being able to get in and out faster. 🤣
Put a nice Mazda rotary in it 🙏 🙏 🙏
The look the scream and the performance would be mind blowing!!
3 rotor for an interesting exhaust note.
Super excited to see where this new build goes. This is definitely more my speed than the 1950's car. Also I love Ryan's energy but I could never work with him and don't know how Tony keeps his sanity 😆
Karmann Guia was my dream car when I was a kid. I love this car and you’ll make it even better.
As much as everyone loves jigsaw i think the drift project will bring a nice freshness to the channel 🙂👌
Great decision guys. I hate the channels which never finishes projects but your dedication also your curse. Diversity gonna bring more new viewers.

One of my best buddies had a hardtop Karmann Ghia for his first car and we had so much fun with that car.
thank you, this is very sensible, please put a 07k turbo.
I had a 67 Ghia convertible, go for it, the beast is born
I will be tuning in this new project this will be so awesome
Thank you for great vids and projects!🎉 Any chance we get a video of your favorite daily drivers? The cars you find most interesting AND reliable. That would be awesome 🤩
Love a Karmann Ghia. Would love to see a retromod build, google blue mamba....
DUDE YES this is so rad im excited to watch yall build another car!! You guys are the most underrated and inspiring channel makes me wanna work on my truck ❤❤❤
Super excited for this project’s potential!!! I hope to see a wicked aggressive Ghia!!!
Way to go boys. I always look forward to your weekly installment. Ghia will make a sick drift car.
You men are absolutely brutal with that reciprocating saw 😆😆😆
@@synicyst9925 gotta show it who’s boss. 😮💨
I've been refreshing for an hour waiting for this!
Same
What engine should we cram into this new project? 👀
How about a 1.8L Turbo from VAG?
They are pretty common, there are a ton of upgrade parts available, which dont break the bank and its fairly light.
Honda K boosted to 1000hp
You should put 2JZ twin turbo engine in that bad boy
The only answer is a 5cylinder 07k swap. I'm doing it on mine and it fits so perfectly. I'll even come help lol. It takes boost really well and unopened can make your power goal of 350 without any issues
01E transmission with a 1.8T engine or maybe a VR6 would be cool. There are some kits available for the conversion.
This is SO GOOD.! This channel just keeps getting better and better. I’m looking forward to this. You guys deserve so many more subs.. 🥳🙌🏼
This is gonna be so awesome. Glad to see a Ryan project!
Hello from York Haven, super excited about the projects you have going, right up my alley.
Very cool I've been playing/autocross with cars for a while but never heard of the alternator running off the axle that's awesome.
This is going to be a great addition 👍🏻
I am looking forward to this! I mean Jigsaw is my favourite weekly watch… but I totally understand where you are at and this makes a lot of sense to me!!!
Oh this is gonna be a good one!
Crucible Driftworks!!!!
Selling many 944 racing parts, and a bench.
It's quite lightweight for a bench but it develops a lot of downforce, and dude it's blue!
Awesome project! I would love to see a VW 1.8t in there!
Shifter knob MISTAKE... now hand brake GOLD
Audi 5 cylinder
VR6T or 07K to stay in the VW family would be very cool
when you say "the body will fit with some modifications" for some reason what sprang to my mind was that absolutely ridiculously wide hill climb A110 powered by a Kawasaki Ninja engine.
I am excited for this new build, BUT! But I really hope to see jigsaw get finished. I've been so attached to that build since the very beginning.
You’ll see it finished!
This is going to be cool

Not my car but id be keeping the 5cyl on the table as a viable option for sure
Biscoff Cookies ❤ Love'em!
2JZ or K swap, there are tons of possibilities. Cool project.
How about an aircooled drifter!🥊
okay thats wild lol. what car has an aircooled inline front engine tho? because an aircooled boxer for a rear engine car would never work in the 944
@@KaosProject21 yes i was thinking that. there is no transaxle system with aircooled engine. and you want less weight in the back. so the challenge is to attach an straight gearbox. should be possible with adapter
SHO 2.3 v6 yamaha. Best looking intake and detuned to 235hp stock, no hair dryers.
Id love seeing a 13b used for this. Drift rotas are just insane and love that limiter.
Sadly know this won't happen though
Love the Ghia lines. Been looking for a ghia swap build. Alas I am 6' 7" and would never fit😢
Drift CarmanGhia on Porsche chassis. Biiiiig YYEEEEESSSSSS
I love Karmen Gea coup's not a fan of the convertible version but the coup is one of my favorite cars!!!! Always wanted to build a bad ass mid engine version not concerned about stock look! He listens to the people!!!
Keep those wheels on it they are perfect and maybe a 4 rotor rotary, would sound amazing
K07 5cyl with a Garrett g series turbo would be neat!
Wow if I was close I'd totally get that wing. I'd love to slap that on the roof of my ice racing car
I'm starting to like the gandalf shifter
Flat 4 the world
A 2.5 would be a solid option and stay in the VW family
I’m not feeling the body swap choice but I support the channel. It’s def different though and will be unique. To bad you didn’t have a Datsun 280z around but once again ppl have made them drift cars already.
How about the 5 cylinder turbo. I've always to do that transplant in a 924
Great project. Put a 07k in it.
Since its a 944 why not put the 3L 4 cylinder in it? Would fit right up. Or maybe even something more extreme, like a boxer engine, maybe some turbos?
Personally if you love the Porsche Boxer engine like I do, I'd go with the Subaru version of it as it will cost less and parts will be more available for it.
This is good
Definitely an O7K. Mainly because that’s what I intend to put in my 71 Karmann Ghia and I would love for you to be the guinea pig so I can just duplicate what you did (if it works).
I'll be here waiting
this is a come up for somebody with a 924 project lol
13B turbo ❤
Audi 20V Turbo the sound of the 5 banger is great.
put OM606 in there :D it will be awesome
LF4 from a black wing.
Instead of down wing, you should have an up wing. That'll make you go sideways.
Now we’re talking.
Put the five cylinder from a VW beetle in it!!
Make a daily vlog channel for the project jigsaw, and other builds, with little editing
Our Patreon will have a lot of BTS updates and whatnot for all projects - which is coming soon. 🙏
Built 2.5 944 turbo motor all day long
Well that's interesting
Audi 5 cylinder with bigg(er) Turbo, otherwise a Chevrolet L88!
☕️😜👍 🌴☀️
maybe you could use a Cayenne v8. maybe a vr6 or something more common.
I know this may not be a popular opinion but if it was me I would put in a 2.7 ecoboost, they are smaller and have a lot of power opportunity, but again just my 2 cents.
You have my attention..... :)
@@Iliketomakestuff 👀
Honda J35 is the way to go.
Vr6 turbo will be fun, or even do 3.6na with itb
The Ghia is a good fit not least of which because both it and the 944 have the same Beetle rear suspension lol. Audi 5 cyl power perhaps?
So this may sound like a crazy idea for engine.. but what about a v6 out of a Camry? They are roughly 300hp and rock solid reliable and super easy to find.
can you put a rotary engine in it, Like the mazda RX-7? that would be sick!
A V10 would be interesting choice or an Audi 5 cil one
How about signed 8x10s of the project cars in the store or at least some big and tall sized shirts lol
Noted! 📝
Yep, pull that red handle and displace all the oxygen in the area.
5.2L FSI Audi R8 & Lamborghini Huracan V10
It needs a 5cyl 07K turbo, stat!
