I don't know for sure, its only a intuition... but listening to him (Giora) and (Jivan) Gasparyan... I "feel" there are many centuries of musical culture together...
Hauntingly beautiful clarinet strains take me back to my first encounter with klezmer, encountering, unexpectedly, the music of the Bridge Ensemble. I was standing in the Odeonplatz in Munich, where hitler gang has first attempted to putsch. their way into the German nation. While reading a plaque, I heard that exotic clarinet wafting around a corner. Following the music, I turned a corner and they they were, the Bridge Ensemble, with clarinet, prophetically, their victory over the the third reich.
really? I hear those high notes are clear, despite long play. Because often when you play high notes a lot, reed stars squeaking.I think it is not 1 number reed. Seems it's more consistent number. What do you think? @@filipcempa6842
Giora has some specific transparent plastic mouth pieces (mundstueks) - they were sold after the concert for like 12$ a piece (this was in the 90s, not today). I don't think he's using the real reeds as we know them.
So beautiful. The heart and soul are dancing together
