I thought one of the things that you need to prepare for this recovery is a brain.
The SDCards work at 3.3V, putting 5V will heat up and destroy your SD Card... Also, the SD uses SPI interface (readable with a timer) but not on a serial bus
Is there a way or would it be possible to convert a USB key into micro sd card slot? I'm thinking of plug and play memory for a tablet which only has a micro sd card slot
@Vegan Pete is a micro sd card reader possible? The tablet in question doesn't have a USB OR a SD card slot, only a micro sd slot much like a phone. I believe the only solution is just a huge Micro SD card but I was interested in would it be possible?

it's fake. reasons:
the USB cable does not have the standard coloring (not that important, just a sketchy USB cable), but, the 4 wires in a USB cable are power (+), power (-), data (+) and data (-). there are 4 data lines on the SD card... pins 1, 2, 7 and 8. also, did you think that you could power a 3.3v SD card with 5v?
2:37 looks like a solder bridge between two pins.
2:47 cut between when he plugged it in and when the drive was supposedly detected.
he never showed the bottom of the SD card before he started "shouldering" it, and when he was (and before plugging it in) he never showed the top.
one more thing, the way the SD card transfers data is not the same as USB (Universal *Serial* Bus).

there is no 5v contact, let alone any power going to this thing, there is just the data + & - and one lonely ground wire.

Instead of soldering on a fragile SD card why not do the soldering on an SD card holder and then insert the SD card into the holder..you can also test malt. SD cards without any more soldering or desoldering?

there are some words made for person like this one. correct you have reached them man. repeat those in your memory and enjoy.
first micro SD needs 3.3v data level and to communicate with SD card you need to use spi protocol that actually uses clock , data in , data out and chip select
to achieve this you gonna need a chip between the USB and the SD card the convert between both devices
so if you want to destroy your card just do like what he did here

There are good number of apps on Google play to recover data from a corrupt SD card. The one I use works howerver there is a problem as it recovers data from the tablet it's self and the SD card so if you only have 20 GB on your device and the SD card is 30GB then there's nowhere to store the recovered data.

The pinout of the SD card does not match the video soldering indicated in the video. 8 pin is not used, but the author connects the ground wire to it.
When soldering, do it the correct way.
Use iron to heat up wire and connector in place.
Add some solder
Allow some time for the solder to flow and fill the void between the wire and the connector
Remove the iron and wait for the solder to solidify. Don't move anything,
The completed joint should look smooth and a little shiny.

Yes! I tried this on the car of my grandma and that thing is a beast now. I can read it's memory, tweak it all on the fly. Best part? There's none.

MicroSD memory comes to 3.3Volta and the USB port has 5V you would have to convert DC-DC 5v to 3.3V to work it and still putty that it works ...
He didn't even connect the 5v in to the SD card lol... Still connected ground tho? weird.

It may work for using card without card reader, but it won't recover corrupted data.
Can you tell me about the wire colours which one is positive, negative, and which two middle data wires.
Wish they would make one in reverse. I want to hook an external hard drive to a dash-cam that only has a micro-SD. It would be cheaper to get a cord made and get an external hard drive from an old computer or SSD like hard drive. Any ideas?

You should have soldered an adapter instead of the actual micro SD card.
so nice but which wire is Vcc, +D, - D, and GND ? the colors of the wires changes from one manufacturer to other , so is useless to say "blue wire" "black wire" , etc
You do realize that there is a gadget called the card reader. There like 3 bucks and are super easy to use over and over and over.

Just use card reader otherwise your card will be destroyed permanently. If nothing important on sd card you can just experiment it.Software also needed on pc to recover corrupted data just like easeus,minitool etc.

Check if your files are automatically backed up to Google Drive or Google Photos. If not, you could root it and then use diskdigger to recover the files.

While connecting memory card video was cut and while showing working memory card inserted. Memory Card can't work on 5v rail, it have to convert into 3.3v.
4pin not 3pin .... Vcc D+ D- Vss ..... 2 power pin (2 longer pins are power not data) and 2 Data pin
