Rebellion: Why are you fighting us!? We want the same thing as you guys!
Republic Hardliners: There’s only room for one democratic faction against the empire!

In reality I’m sure they’d cooperate but this sounded funnier as a joke

Funnily enough, there was once a Admiral with a fleet composed entirely of Republic warships and fighters on Legends, so the Harline fleet could be considered a revolutionary imperial

Two different rebel factions fighting each other. Pretty realistic. I can imagine that Republic hardliners see the Rebels as terrorists and Separatist sympathizers, while the Rebels see the Republicans as rogue repainted Imperials.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The Rebel alliance is the Alliance to *restore the Republic,* they are Republican at their core, in fact Separatists weren't generally welcomed, certainly not during the New Republic either.

id imagin this would ahppen after the coursant treaty the hardliners want the reoublic and its boarders restored as is while the rebelion/ new republic only allows tho whom request to be apart of the republic allowing potnetially previously allinged CIS worlds to break away which the hardliners find UNACCEPTABLE
