I found myself pondering throughout the story: why did her father leave her with Madam Alice, someone he mistrusted? And what about her mother-where did she go? It's a mystery that lingered for me. Also, considering the era, why didn't Madam Alice consider birth control for her? Were condoms not an option then? Nevertheless, I'm glad she eventually found her way and that her father stood by her. What do you think were the biggest factors in her transformation?
Her mother died. Her father thought she should be raised by a woman. I the time that he left her with his other wife he didn’t distrust her. He thought the other wife could show her how to be a lady better than he could
I think this tale is one of the best advice for us youth . To always pay attention about our surroundings . Because if she was very careful she will never accept Alice advices !But she was also young when all started with Alice behavior. So it’s Alice and her father’s fault.
This story should be shown to every young person these days!

Her Father is to blame he new and mistrusted Madam Alice but yet he left his daughter with her anyway, a Question this story never answered for me was where and what happened to her mother .I continue to enjoy your Stories. Why did Madam Alice not take her to the doctor for birth control also guessing condoms weren't available then. 😊 I am glad in the end she grew into propper thinking and her father supported her. 👍🏿

The old man was at fault: he knew his wife was a harlot or at least suspected it yet left his daughter fully in her hands. We all face the consequences of our choices but the young have no experience and need careful guidance. Okuchukwu's shame was her father's shame.

It is Alice fault because the father trusted her with the step daughter. As a young child she does not even know much about life so Alice was supposed to guide her but Alex failed her.

Oluchuku was responsible for her choice. We choose to do as advised or not. The choice is always on our hands. Also, both parents failed in raising an independent thinker who is able to know what they want in themselves without relying on others.

From my own experience Oluchuku is the course of everything else right , why you as a child now that you have new everything about your stepmother behavior why couldn't you tells your father about it, but the young lady decided to keep it secret and than take the same step of his stepmother lifestyle. It really bad and it was a great lesson to our sisters😊😊😊 they inherited bad attitude to their mother's....

The fact that they both (Alice and the father) don’t live together and that him, his daughter and her mother were living together before the passing of her mother makes me wonder. What was the reason behind the father and Alice living seperate homes and different locations.

I think because the father knew the stepmother was like that. He did a bad job leaving his daughter with her. I mean have the girl had no other family members he could had left her with in her father village?
