- Unload the skid steer off the trailer and then load the mini excavator
back up. Freddie is not a happy camper because I wasn't home to
take a nap with him and then that night the electric power went out
which put him more out of sorts.
Watch also: Karl running the John Deere dozer to build a barn pad:

Dave and Freddy certainly make a good team...
LOL, I guess we do, but Freddy thinks he is my boss! Freddy and I really do appreciate your watching the video my friend.
But Dave, didn't you know Dogs have Owners, Cats have Slaves!😹😹😹
I have 15 and I'm a slave to all of them!,🫢🤨😱😂😂😂
@HolidayDecorator Freddy knows that 🫡

Children dream and play with trains and tractors - You're living the dream Dave, Living the dream
I think your right about that HongyaMa. How lucky can 1 guy get.

Happy Halloween, hope you and family got out so that you could enjoy the spirit of the holiday.
No we stayed in Mack. Corrie took her boy to a Halloween

Very cool video on Halloween Dave. We enjoyed watching and have a wonderful upcoming Friday. Steve
Thank you Steve. Freddy and I really do appreciate your watching the video my friend. And Freddy says Meow to his buddy Stormy.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Your very welcome and LOL yes indeed Stormy says hi also.
Dave, you sure keep busy!
Yes I do Keith, I've been busy since the day I was born. My great
grandfather had 33 grand kids and when I was 5 he said I was
the busiest child he ever saw. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
😊👍
Thank you 1208 Bug. Freddy and I really do appreciate your watching the video my friend.
good job, you have to keep things secure when transporting any equipment.yes it is scary backing up blind
especially off of a trailer ! Freddie is up set you changed his routine! cats love their naps especially with
their favorite human! it is bonding time for him! it was crazy here 10-30, 10-31 76’F both days! hope it cools
like the weather should be! stay safe, good luck on the new job. hope your power came back quickly.
it is crazy how dependent upon the grid and electricity,
You are so right Barry, how dependent we are on the power grid
and for a good many of us, the internet. We don't have cell
service at home unless we can hop off the internet. So when the
power goes out I have to drive 5 miles into town to get cell
service to call the power company. Got rather warm here also
those days, up to almost 80. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
It was in the low to mid 80's in Florida, still is. I'll be glad when the temps drop into the mid 60's in Florida. Sick of the "HOT" weather in the Fall/Winter seasons in my area of Florida.
@HolidayDecorator 😊👍
Hey Dave, you are missing a drivers side mud flap off the dump truck. Might need to get that fixed! 😎
Yes I am very observant Mike. It falls off when I dump for
some reason, so I leave it off until the truck needs to go in
for inspection. Maybe I need to put on a shorter mud flap so
the material I dump won't push it against the tires and then it would stay on. Freddy and I thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Hi Dave, a shorter mud flap will help. Years ago I hauled stone and asphalt, and lost my share of them!! LOL I ended up trimming them to just lower than the halfway point of the centerline of the wheel... that helped a bunch! I also 'slotted' the screw holes that held them on... and used fender washers to bolt them in. That way, if they get pulled out... it doesn't rip the holes out of the flap making it not useable.. with the slots, it just pulled out past the bolts without ripping the flap, and I could put them back in.. and it only took about 5 minutes... loosen the bolts up, slide the flap back up into place, and snug the bolts down again. I got them fixed before the boss ever knew they were pulled off!! HAHA!
Hope that you had a good weekend!
@mikep1085 great idea Mike 💡 👍😊
Happy Halloween Dave
Thank you Steven and wishing the same for you. Freddy and I thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
Nice unload and reload. Boy, I'll say Freddy was NOT a happy camper! Those eyes wide, and look out for that tail! Starts to swishin' and it shows he's not happy. Still a soft furball!
Appreciate your saying that Trena and yep Freddy was a bit
upset..... He was all right after we got him some treats tho.
Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
You should add cameras to the front and back so you can see the tracks when you are driving! Split screen for both cameras.
That would be an excellent idea Jim. I'm going to have to
research getting a back up camera for the skid steer. Thanks
Now BIG BOY, be honest now, did I hear 👂some grunting going on while you were getting out of the loader? Just asking 🤷♂️ 😁😂
A bit you did hear right Teddy. I'll be all right tho. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
*_Better to have the power out when the weather is good. Back in 2017 we had a monster wind storm that knocked out power for almost 80% of the city. It was middle of winter and freezing out. For 3 days it was like 7 degrees inside. Didn't have to worry about the fridge though. LOL. Tell Freddy Happy Halloween and a scary one to you to Dave._* 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
We had a big snow storm similar to that back around that
time too, our power was out for 5 days and it was frigid outside
and none too warm inside. I had a very small wood burner in
the house I lived in then, it kept you warm, well at least one
room in the house. Kitty cat at the time was the first time
ever before and after crawled under the covers with me at
night. I wore my insulated coveralls inside. Power came
back on 1 hour before the Super Bowl that Sunday. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
Hope your power was not out too long A good thing you have a geni. I am all electric so can't do anything if thee is no power. Freddy is a cute kitty, he does not look real happy about the power out LOL.
Freddy thinks he sure is and now he's a big You Tube star Cedarcam. Our power has gone out so many times this past
year it's not funny. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
Wow, Freddy is a beautiful cat, Dave. We have 15 cats of our own. Most are Ginger cats, commonly known as Orange tabby cats, we have a variety of orange ones, some are Orange and White, some are light Orange with little to no white, some are dark Orange, kind of a Cinnamon to Burnt Sienna tanish/brown, then we have a brown tabby who is brown, black, and white, a grey and white tabby, and then we have the white Siamese twins who has a little orange coloring (assorted sized spots/patches), one had to have her right eye removed as a young kitten due to she got a serious eye infection, we tried to save her eye, but it was too badly damaged. But at least that gave me a way to tell her apart from her twin sister, as their markings are identical.😸. Of course I can only identify who is who only from the face, from their side or rear view, I still can't tell them apart!😹😹
And every one of them is spoiled rotten too.🤣😹🤣😹🤣😹🤣😹🤣😸🤣😸🤣
P.S. I forgot to add, when you said you should be home napping with Freddy, I thought holy moly, Dave really goes overboard with combining his other activities with his railroad job. He's got a Freddy(thinking the flashing rear end device) and he takes a nap with like a child with a teddy bear.
Not realizing you were talking about a pet cat.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I should have known better.🙀😺😸😹
How awesome is that Mr. Bones! Not sure how Freddy would
like having 14 other cats around, but he's really proud of you
guys for taking such good care of so many of his buddies.
I once had a big orange tom cat, he was a good kitty. Freddy and I thank you for stopping by to watch the video my friend.
Going backwards.... Moving a 50 feet, or more, bus backwards the hat trick helps! What's that?
Go out of the vehicle, check things up, the remaing space or whatever... Then drop the hat, cap.... below the drivers window and use it as a reference when You move!
An experieced driver told me that and it's really useful.
The same strategy is more then helpful driving a 20 ton railcar out on a turntable that's only inches longer then the wheelbase. Going off track is not an option especially not with the motor boogie having a differential between the two axles...
Excellent idea Stefan, I never heard of doing that but will have
to remember it. Be okay as long as the wind doesn't blow the hat
away.... :-) But you could use a small bucket with rocks in it or
something if it was windy. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Haha. If it's that windy something more heavy then the hat might be used..
Skid steers and I don`t get along very well, lol. You should invest in a Generac like we did Dave. Power is always going out here, sometimes for no reason. Give Freddie a pet from me too Dave!
I did check into a generac a few years ago Wilbur, very high priced
for a model that would run everything in our house. but a lot of folks around here have them. Problem is with the line surges we
have which have blown up all kinds of circuitry in our home,
I'm worried it would blow up the circuitry in a generac too. For
the time being I will stay with the plug in generator we have.
Freddy and I thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
Happy Halloween, my friend. Trick. What's missing in the video?A Mudflap😂 👷♂️🚧 Great video on work after work.
Yep your right Doug. It falls off all the time when i dump so I
just leave it off until inspection is due. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
Hey Dave !!! Are you sure there wasn't a squirrel on the powerline as that's what happened at our sub station & knocked out the whole grid for 2 days b?4 they found it on the ground !!! ""FREDDIE"" is a trip for sure !!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I never did heard what happened, but whatever it was they got the
power back on sometime during the night KB. Freddy and I thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Always will !!!👍👍👍👍👍
You sure have to know what you are doing loading and securing that heavy equipment. A hard job.
Thank you for the nice comment and for taking the time to
watch the video.
Get a backup camera installed on the skid steer and on the mini hoe to help you when are backing up.
That would be an excellent idea Michael, wonder why I never
thought of that. I will check out what I can find on doing that.
It's so easy to run into something behind you on that skid steer
which is why I hate to run it. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
I have a very serious question here! How far north do you have to get before a radiator turns into a rat-e-ater?
From my most diligent research there is a line across the country
much like the Mason Dixon line that separates the areas where
they are Ray diators, Rad eaters and Rat eaters. However I do
believe a man of your intelligence and highly motivated skills
should check further into this most delicate of subjects and
provide us with a most accurate knowledge of exact latitudes
where these lines can be found. There are some "gray" areas
on the existing lines that need to be cleared up. Freddy and I really do appreciate your watching the video my friend.
@ThatsDavesOtherDoings you forget Dave, I'm from the darkest part of the Appalachian mountains! I barely speak Redneckish! We have word like,
Fixin'
"I'm fixin' to get to work"
And
"Upin'under" (all one word)
" My dog is upon'under the porch"
May years ago I dated a girl from up north. She said my accent was one of the main reasons she went out with me. She said I was the only person she ever knew that spoke banjo! My wife has a deeper accent then I do. She speaks cornbread!
We got hit by Helene's very tail end here in So. IL. We were off the grid for 8 days. Living a mile from the nearest live neighbor and being both of us are in our 80s it is a wonder we did not kill each other. We do not get a cell signal here so the silence. Our kids were worried as they could not check on us both electronically or physically.
Oh wow, what an ordeal that must have been Big'un. When we lose power we lose internet and we have no cell service here
but have to rely on hopping off the internet for cell. So we are
isolated like you were. Fortunately both kids live 5 minutes or
less from us, but I'm sure your kids were worried not hearing
from you guys or able to get a hold of ya. Freddy and I both thank you so much for taking the time to check out the video my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings It was a trying time. My service dog went nuts when the EMTs and the helicopter got her 8 days ago. Man, she was glad to see me when I got released and almost ripped the door off of the wife's Fiat 500. We love her and our cats, especially our large boy, a large MINI BLACK PANTHER. At least he thinks he is a panther.
@bigun447 👍😊👍
I don't like John Deere skid steers as I'm tall and peddles are too "sensitive" for my Bullwinkle feet! 🤣
This one all the controls are joy sticks, no foot peddles on this
one MTHDCS. And it is much nicer to run that way I think.
Freddy and I certainly do appreciate your stopping by to watch my friend.
That's railroading ain't it.
Or in this case, that's excavatin.... :-)
