To all my foreign friends out here, I am giving y'all a small advice. Indians always mix English and Hindi and it's really not a problem if sometimes you started speaking English. So, never get nervous if you accidently forget Hindi, English may play a backup and people will consider as fine cuz I am Indian LOL

@@Aethelhadas Welcome sis :) and yes, for speaking or listening purposes DO NOT visit this channel. Very good for vocabulary, grammar and writing/reading. However listening and speaking is absolutely not in the way it should be. So, prefer other channels over this.

@@bojanav.7051 Nobody speaks entirely in Hindi. In formal or business settings people speak English. Common phrases such as thank you, sorry, hello, excuse me, bye etc are understood by almost all of the Indians especially the younger gen. Hindi + English mixed (80% hindi +20% english) is used in informal/normal communication. You can learn that best from cartoons in Hindi. (Someone actually mentioned they learnt from there and I think thats a brilliant idea). You can level up by songs and movies in Hindi.
Hindi channels here are good for vocabulary and they tell you how to say a certain word or phrases but in reality people speak with their own accent/ regional accent and slangs.

@@becreative7911 I am Tamil from South India. I knew Hindi very little bit. When we hear Hindi from Hindi speaker mostly It sounds very fast only one percent of words can be understood.
Hindi is not the national language of India. It is one of the official language. We have no national language.
By the way India doesn't have any national language, India only has "official languages" Hindi being one out of (22 languages I guess)

Let me tell u my secret. I watched Japanese children's show like Ninja Hattori and shinchan in Hindi . And learned Hindi in just about 1 year ( only speaking) and later started learning to write.
Im half indian, i have been studying this language for 4 years and i still cant form sentances.
hey it's too easy.... but yes we have mixed language like we also use urdu and parsi words so it becomes difficult for foreigners 😄😄

I am married to an Indian, before marriage i have slowly2 started to get familiar with Hindi words such as greeting.
And I'm just trying to remember a few of my Hindi recollections, i can even sing a Hindi song too.
Now that we are married, i am trying to upgrade my Hindi vocabulary as my in-laws can't really speak English.
And i would really want to communicate with them.
Just recognise the Script of Hindi and the sounds for each letter so you can read it. Pronounce it, Read it then write it you'll learn it. Hindi is fairly easy and quick to learn
Don't worry,learning hindi isnt a big deal once you crack the basics

I visited Delhi in 1972 . I am a Malaysian of Indian origin. The Delhites refused to speak in English to me (as I appeared Indian to them ) Hindi was alien as Greek was to me . Within one week I was able to understand and communicate a bit in Hindi . It was like learning to swim as a result of being pushed in to the pool .
Actually being a Malaysian Tamil I found that Hindi had many common words with Tamil and Malay .. .. yes Malay
yes because hindi is direct descendent of Sanskrit and we know the similarities between Sanskrit and Tamil.

The Grammar, pronouns are same, but verbs and literal words are different. Both of these languages are based on Sanskrit language, but Hindi uses Sanskrit words, whereas urdu mostly uses Persian words.

Looked up this video because I met a sweet Indian lady at our grocery store. We have hit it off and I recently found out she speaks Hindi. Recently started looking at learning some Hindi (Irish, now living in London, so Hindi is all around me). These small lesson are so beautifull yput together, explaining the grammer throughout and showing Hindi and a Roman-style pronounciation. So glad I found this!
So much in India is unique, love the culture and country. I had a gf with Indian parents (parents moved to Scotland, gf born here) was with her for nearly 5 years but I wasn't in a good place, although her parents were accepting and she was great.

I am an Englishman living in England and I'm learning Hindi. I love speaking Hindi and I think it's a beautiful sounding language. My favourite part of speaking Hindi is the look on Indian faces when I greet and thank them in Hindi. Namaste phir milenge.
