I want to thank everybody for their prayers! I can`t believe how easy it has been to do the "Bible in a year". I have used the notebook and most important, I have learned so much! I believe that it is the fath of everyone praying that has made "the bible in a year" a major part of my life! I especially like the fact that whole chapters are read at one time. Thank you everyone who has worked on this project!
I went to a Catholic School, where we were taught to bow our heads at the name of Jesus. At 66 years old, I still bow my head at the name of Jesus. God bless you Father Mike and all who are listening! May the Holy Spirit open our minds to what we hear in the Gospel and be more like Jesus!

When I was younger, I used to take the Lord’s name in vain on a regular basis. After a conversion experience, I took the Lord’s name in vain, but this time God showed me the pain He felt when we do this, and let me tell you it was intense. I stopped doing it after that because I knew it hurt Him so much.

I really like the symbolism of the first humans being corrupted or "poisoned" by a serpent in the beginning of the bible, and then at the end of acts one tries to poison Paul and fails. Such a small passage but i think it's so cool. Also no way! Fr. John used to be the pastor of my church! You always reminded me of him and i wondered if you two knew each other haha

Never heard this concept of apatheia(sp?) discussed, but it seems like a highest expression of sincere, practical FAITH. Clearly, a virtue I need to be mindful of pursuing in my personal struggles. Lord, give me the grace of this virtue of apatheia.
Let me revere the name of God. Let me have a servants heart even when it’s difficult. Thank you for this gift God! Thank you father Mike for walking along with us. I will be finishing my final semester of college. I will be discerning baptism and confirmation either for the upcoming spring or sometime in the future. According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great, was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. If the final product is to be with Jesus Christ, the process to get will also not matter. Purgatory could be part of the process.

Ha ! I can relate to that sitting back thing and letting others 'do' it is not because I want to get out of doing things, I think it is a indication of my introvert nature, assuming others can do things better than I can.
Interestingly did anyone else clock Philippians 1 v 22 -26 where Paul is talking about wanting to be with Jesus but knows that he is needed to continue preaching, he says in v22 'Yet what shall I choose' did he have any control on the timing of his death?
