Hey guys! Wow this brings back memories from primary school. I think the little fish is for a technique called sgrafitto. We would make a really colourful first layer with the wax crayons and then put a solid black layer of crayon on top. Then you would scrape back with a sharp object to the first layer and draw anything you liked and you got this really cool effect. So in essence making your own scraperboard. It also works with harder oil pastels to make fine details with them like hair and whatnot.

Thank you so much for drawing our attention to sgraffito! We will be doing a video of it!
It's always great to learn about something new and exciting!

Wow, those Staedtler crayons are huge!
I think Maped crayons are softer because they are watersoluble when Staedlter are waterproof.
I have a set of chunky metallic crayons by Staedtler and they are fun.
So soft and intense, rich in colour.
I also have a set of glitter Crayolas and those glitter particles can be scratchy.
They also make those crayons less smooth.

They are! And feel interesting to use!
That's a possibility, the Maped ones are super smooth which is great!
I remember having Staedtler "turn-ups" (those weird hybrid sort of like wax crayons but harder in a plastic tube, like the Crayola Twistables) that had glitter infused, and it normally just made a scratchy mess! I was so disappointed! Because the idea of having glitter infused should be great!

@@Fantastic_Farben Yes, perhaps, having glitter infused all through the crayon is not such a great idea after all 🤔
It looks interesting and fun in theory but in practice it’s just messy indeed 🫤
      Metallic/shimmer filler is preferable.
It dulls down the colours a little and makes them sheen under a certain angle.
So you get a set of muted colours in crayons which is nice 😊

I was hoping you'd use them in an art or coloring book to see how they work. But nice video 😊

Thank you! We can totally do a video where they are used in a colouring book ^_^
