Can get much more entertaining than suba diving in an abandoned nuclear reactor that melted down inside of a war zone that's going to be invaded any day now
I don't get why US-Americans adopted "meltdown" for what was actually a runaway power exkursion followed by a steam- and a hydrogen-explosion. I mean the reactor supposedly ran at up to 300Gigawatts, 100 times higher than it was rated for. Over half of the cores content was blown out. It was and still is completly open. The word meltdown just doesn't express what needs to be expressed. The rest of the core did melt down, but days after the main event and it didn't contribute much to exposing the environment to radioactivity. A meltdown like in TMI is more like: oh, something went wrong and the reactor wasn't cooled sufficiently... now the reactor is somehow broken, but basically nothing really happened to anything outside the reactor pressure vessel; maybe a bit radioactivity escaped via vents to prevent overpressure. Not compareable to chernobyl ractor 4! But back to your comment: from reactor no. 5 that had not been finished building in 1986 it is something like 2 km (1,5 miles) to reactor no. 4! There is no way they are actually reaching reactor no. 4 EVER. Also why would there be a tunnel of some sort to reactor no. 4? Reactors 1 to 3 are closer; so just why would there be such a tunnel? Also the tunnel would have had to go under two water canals (cooling canals). .. and a war zone? You're watching too much TV. If russia invaded, there is no way the Ukrain could defend itself. Did they defend the Krim? I'm not saying there wouldn't be war and many deaths, but it's not 1944 on the coast of france anymore.
This was recorded a while back. The news has run stories about Ukrainan troops training CQB in Pripyat, and to potentially defend because it’s a supposed to be a short route to the capital pushing through there. No idea if any of this is true, the news likes to stir.
That’s dramatic lol. The levels of radiation there aren’t that high. Most places have the same amount as you’d get from a round trip on a plane to USA and back to Europe, depending on the time they spent there. A few hours there isn’t even the same as one X-ray (in most areas of Chernobyl.) Even in the control unit of reactor 4, the radiation level is low. Where they are (building 5) is an unfinished part.

yeah umm thats likely not gonna happen
If I understand everything correctly, then the only danger to this is the scuba diving portion. There shouldn't be little to no radiation because this is the 5th reactor, and the 4th reactor was the one that blew up.
This is absolute gold. I'd narrate this for free, it really deserves a professional narrator but I'm at least better than the bot.
"They said 'we are idiots'!" haha, this stuff is great!
This content is worth it's weight in gold. I can't think of anything better. The randomness, the adventure, the jokes, the subject matter. Haha.. The voice over said Hally mally instead of holly molly
It's Holy Moly.
It is a non offensive way to say "Holy Moses".
It is an English exclamation of surprise.
We need holly molly hoodies
all that missing metal and its marauders, named SUPER SUS!
I’ve watched these videos so much I’m starting to recognize different tunnels they go through 😀
Just please never have kids one day, there not gonna work properly
I really hope this makes it on Dive Talk
Please be safe and I hope and pray that they didn't make you fight the Russians because I really love your videos
18:33 "Tea is awesome." "....now it's radioactive." "IT'S OKAY."
My sides.
He thinks when water gets in he’s going to die? I would love to have been there when he finds out that suit fills with water and so did the boots. 😂
You can’t consult divers you have to be an experienced diver. I can’t wait to episode two and three. Hope all went well.
This is one of the best yet, a bit more organization goes a long way. Well done fellas! Great entertainment!
12:59 that’s a crayfish, idk how it got there but it’s a radioactive crayfish
Dragonfly larvae
Every time they say “holly molly” you should drink a vodka shot
I hope it's not just me that doesn't like Konrad anymore :/ it's as though he tries too hard and always does unnecessarily stupid stuff like wacking those rusty vents putting everyone elses health at risk... Idk. Great content tho Kreosan very risky doing what you did especially in winter. Keep up the good work.
Now how did metal thiefs transport that missing heavy round door out of the building after cutting it out. Not easy cutting through that thickness.
Its no way to transport this heavy door in one peace it must be cuted in few pieces witch takes a lot of time .
the only thing I can think of is after almost 70 years, and the cold and ice actually slows a lot of the radioactive particles allowing for these guys to get right inside the reactor and walk on the water without any serious issues
Holly molly that's a hell!
Please be careful friends
Rust does not cause metal to warp or bend. You normally need heat and/or high pressures. EDIT: Unless it is completely corroded.
combined iq cannot be over 100 oh god
Dude with the scarf around his neck really wanted tea!
Don’t harm the catfish if you do catch any, they are wonderful creatures
