Capcom decided to make some easy money, so they recycled parts of Mega Man X5, threw in overly difficult trial-and-error gameplay, made almost everything an obstacle course, and called it Mega Man X6.
Rescuing all Reploids on Xtreme mode is inadvisable for all but the most hardcore, yet this TAS makes it look easy. Not only that, it collects everything that can be collected before beating the game.
In this run, Rolanmen1 uses additional items and tricks that are not present in the any% or all stages runs, such as X's Blade Armor. Though X still has less screentime than Zero, he is used to his fullest potential in the Gate stages. - เกม

I have to say, seeing bosses E V A P O R A T E against apparently nothing in the TAS is strangely satisfying. Especially Sigma 2, must've spent an hour on him alone as an 8 yr old.

I don't see how X6 recycles anymore concepts than X5 did to warrant special attention. Still, "recycling" is not a bad thing if done right. Most of the concepts previously seen in X5 are made better in X6. But then, there's the games' own problems. It's still a fun ride if you know your way around the bullshit.
I would have actually seen X6 as a better game than X5(to a degree)...if it wasn't for the bad translation, typos and a few sfxs (which i believe it's better to use their X4-5 variants)

Even though I couldn't beat him the first time, it really gave me the shivers.
Growning up in a poor family with no internet connection and only a low power PC and game cds.. there was no easy way to find out easily with the thing called [internet]

How fast would it take to beat the game?
It is pretty boring IMO. Pretty straightforward, but you would need Zero anyways since X with Ultimate Armor won't pass though Gate 1. X would need either Blade Armor or Jumper. I would rather an X only TAS.

Since this TAS was made in PCSX, I had to use kkapture and encoded it using x264 with a filter called nnedi3. It is a bit complicated and very heavy on CPU but the quality as you can see is impressive.
How long that even take to create a TAS?
That is very hard to estimate since it depends on game, what are you trying to achieve in that game and the free time you have to TAS.

I rescued most of the reploids on xtreme as zero (some as X but only the ones that didnt give lifeup or weaponup powerups).. so yeah.
I consider myself hardcore.
I got them all, but it was EXTREMELY frustrating and required multiple resets. In my opinion, this is one aspect they should have done away with, given (iirc) once one dies, you can't just replay the stage and try again.
On Yammark stage, how did you activate guard shell without going into the pause menu?

41:29 can you pls upload a tutorial on how the slide boosting works? I can't find any videos explaining how to do this properly. I'm having difficulty pulling this off... from what I've heard, your supposed to jump dash while holding the desired direction then letting go of the direction just before landing, but I don't think I'm doing it right. 😭
That is actually how you do it, the issue is that it is super hard to do consistently, for context this is a one frame trick.

Can't be sure why since I can't see your input, but it is probably because you are not fast enough or either you are not destroying the last box fast enough.

This is somehow similar to how X evolves in skill and technique lorewise, the ultimate and perfect AI. With combat experience, he will be able to beat Zero even with his eyes closed.
This game frustrated me to no end when I was a kid, it's kinda vindicating to see it thoroughly obliterated like this. Well done.

Ive never played this game are the bosses normal this ridiculously easy? Or is it because of a turbo controller or something? Do bosses not have invincibility frames like they did in previous games?
He is playing in a TAS, meaning he can get inputs frame by frame. The invincibility frames you talked about, they're only applied on the 3rd hit of Zero's combo. He is landing the first hit, dash-canceling and landing the first hit again. It is possible on a normal playthrough too, just not so fast.

What the fuck was that even? That's nuts.
Tweekitus its the ensuizan glitch where you cancel the spin's animation as you get off a platform (very easy to do on ice platforms). It makes you invincible but you still die from pits, crushes and if you do the move again it will cancel the invincibility.

High max is totally invincible in the intro stage. You can beat him in one of the secondary area of any stage like how its done in the Any% TAS.
Rolanmen1 Oh sorry. Beating highmax gets the last levels, but that's for the 2nd encounter, not at the intro.

Could you tell me wich Tool you use to do the Sonic speed slashes?
Slash, back, forward, dash, slash, rinse and repeat. If you're doing it in a TAS you can do it frame perfect and shred everything. Real players can also do it but obviously not as fast as a TAS does it.

Slash dash cancelling is what it's called. After you perform first slash, dash immediately to cancel it, then slash again etc. You have to face the opposite direction in this game most of the time due to how zero swings in this game.

Game is hard but IMO, x6 is the most OP X and Zero in the entire series with it's techs and weapons.
How do you speed kill like that with zero? Is that a emulation thing?
No, it's possible on console. If you stand close enough to a boss using Guard Shell, every frame of Zero's sword hitting will do 1 hit of damage. I think the boss has to be between Zero and the Guard Shell shield
