Thank you for sharing. Can i ask how i can check the load transfer from slab meshing to beam?

Thank you very much for the video sir! if i combine all small slabs into a single floor, do you think it work? there is the other way to ask--why do you separate the floor into so many small pieces? and when I create columns and any frames, do i need to create mesh for all of them? I will be really appreciate if you answer the questions.

How about deck section? Do we need to mesh the deck section?

Why the warning is only on the upper slab. In the model the lower slab (on x and y dwg) have the same format?

very nice explanation about meshing. great work mashallah.
    following all your videos.
when to use membrane, shell type in slabs. and do membrane and shell type slab requires meshing ?

Sohail Khan membrane no need for meshing... membrane is same you analysis the structure manually

    you recommend auto mesh ....?

I have watched this video but how to do it in etabs as there is no option for cracked and uncracked section in etabs

nice explanation. can you please make a video on shell type slab and membrane type slab. and when and why we should we use shell or membrane. and their meshing. and is after meshing, nodes of two slab are not concentric then will it cause a problem in load distribution or not. and how to tackle this problem. thanks in advance.

To define a slab or wall element as shell means that we want the element to resist in plane and out of plane moment which result a reduced load to the supporting element. And where as if we define the element as membrane then the element is capable of resisting in plane moment only, resulting an increased stresses in the supporting element. In general when we model a structure we want that slab to be a part of the collector system so it is logical to model slabs as shell.

Asif Mostafa Anik got that. But which type of structure should be model as shell or membrane. On which basis i’ll decide i need both in and out plane bending.or only inplane. Plz explain this.

iMuggin It is your engineering decision. Cause it is general concept to model each slab or wall elements as shell.

@@imuggin6925 Ok I Understand but the question is the slab at the moment of the construction how can we make it behave in the way we assume in the design?

URGENT !!!! idk why but in my building, BM and SF are very low like 0.54 something, what could be the reason ?? I have applied live, wind, and EQ load as well still it shows in such a way. what am I doing wrong?
