The Tomb Kings and Bretonnian models in the boxes are about as old iirc?
Yeah, GW started to move towards more monopose, sadly.. I loved the original Regimental boxes. it is so much a building and modelling hoby.. I don´t agree with moving away from it. Sure, have some easy build boxes for the lazy but..

I've had a good look at the ranges being released, good news for Ork and Empire players, you've got the old style modular models. Even better for undead as you can mix the Tomb Kings and Empire.

I don’t really mean this in a bad way, but it sounds like you don’t like proper rank and flank miniatures. I have a large Bretonnian army and I much prefer the halberdiers in that versus the few Empire halberdiers I have that are newish (versus my old Empire soldiers). The newer sculpts look amazing but they do not rank properly. Also, long bowmen most often loose forwards as it takes advantage of the velocity and strength of the longbow against knightly armor.

Nice assessment and it's great to hear a counter argument to my view of the longbow men. I love the minis too.

I guess spear blocks are designed to look uniform. After all, close-order infantry have to act together. They do look strange on those big bases - more like open-order infantry. I never found it difficult to get Warhammer close-order infantry onto 20mm bases (apart from Skaven).

I think for these you are right, but I'm happy with the new bases for the Khemri units.

the high elves metal phoenix guard were problematic to rank on their 20mm bases. their halberds would always want to be where the neighboring model was. I agree though that most units weren't too bad.

I prefer the 5th editon halberds where the models are holding them with both hands. I can’t stand the faces on these peasants , they look weird and deranged. Last criticism is i don’t like the brim helmets make them all look like Raiden from Mortal Combat

I can live with the brims, I do wish they had a two handed option.
