How did you order new pistons before you got old ones out and measured the cyclinders what if one is scared and needs bored what if the crank needs turned? Arnt you going to check the main bearings?
A dynflow transmission dont shift in drive it can be shifted from low to drive by hand them old buick were known for top end speed you dont have the timing and dwell set right that old buicks will cruise 80 all day I had 3 of them I know them cars the transmissions were junk
How did you order new rod bearings without checking the old ones for size it could have been rebuilt before and have over sized bearings in it if that engine lasts for 500 miles when you get done it will be a merical..

Engine runs fine

Did you put the scraper rings in right side up. Did you stagger the ring end gap

Them cars are super hard to work on because of that drive shaft set up

Why are you beating on the rockers it has a rod knock I been a mechanic for 55 years the car needs a new engine
Your not a mechanic your a parts changer..oil dont fix a rod knock ok?
