A cool little history lesson. They used to put the stairs up to the second floor for two reasons. One was that the ground floor was usually for servants, and they kept the food deliveries handy, and the second was that the stairs kept the horse poop on the roads from being easily tracked up into the nicer part of the house.

I'll edit if I'm wrong but I think the stairs would have iron graters on the side of the steps to scrape the poop from their shoe soles.

Interesting, it's the exact opposite in the UK and Ireland.
The top floor in Georgian/Victorian townhouses is shorter with smaller windows for the servants' rooms. They would put them to the top floor so the rich homeowners wouldn't have to walk up multiple flights of stairs to reach their rooms.
@@CM-ss5pe No, it was like that here in the US as well. The attic rooms were for the servants, but usually the kitchen and laundry is in the bottom floor of old houses, whether that be the ground or basement. This is actually why Europe calls the floor up a set of stairs the 'first' floor, because that was usually where the family would start to live.

For orange a retro 70s look would be the obvious choice, but I think a tropical maximalist theme with the tiger wallpaper and fruits/sunset/cocktail vibe could be really cool! 🧡🐅🥭🍊🍹🧃🦐🌅🐡

I think purple will DEFINITELY be the hardest since this game has like zero purple swatches that don’t look horrendous. But I’m really excited for yellow, you can go with like a champagne color and a luxury vibe

That’s an amazing idea for yellow! Most purple swatches are a little 🤢. Some are nice and more lavender (pastel pop kit for example) but most packs don’t have nice purple swatches
I think orange can be solved by using more terracotta tones, kinda Mediterranean earthy vibes. I think going classic Greek style white and blue would be cool for the blue one! Purple will probably be hardest for the outside, but I bet there’s nothing you guys can’t creatively work around 😊

Since they didn't do anything with the basement or Attic, it'd be really fun to do something really big and connected, like a giant community space in the basement, and to connect all the attics with the big dog doors for the kids to sneak around and play in there, like in The Magicians Nephew

Agreed. I thought they would have done something with the basement. That one tile space was a good spot for stairs to go down.
If this is gonna be apartments, they could make all of the basements some of kind communal space in the end? Again, giving it it's own color? Could be a fun finale.

The blue apartment needs to belong to the owner of Whaleberts Theme park. So not only is it a pretty nautical theme but it’s hiding whales everywhere 😂
Purple is my favorite color, I really would love to see it be a more pastel vibe - maybe theme this one slightly to crystal/magic/fantasy theme

Fun fact! (Although I may be wrong so, grain of salt) the reason indigo is listed in the colours of the rainbow is because they originally listed six, but wanted the rainbow to have seven colours since seven is a godly number and supposedly god made rainbows, so they were like “uhhhh indigo! There, now there’s seven and it represents god” when in actual colour wheels used for art there is no importance on indigo because it’s not actually a major colour lol.

They were actually discovered by Sir Isaac Newton who originally only saw 5 colors missing orange and indigo but stretched it to 7 to make it match the notes found on a music scale. 7 is a number that represents God in Jewish and Christian tradition though so it's a nice crossover!

I always thought the rainbow was that way because the colors all made each other. Orange was between red and yellow because that's how you make orange, green between yellow and blue, and purple is a mix of red and blue, but I thought indigo and violet were added to seam it together better. Idk 😶
@@peaceinmind7333 to add to this, sir Isaac Newton also likely basing the color ‘indigo’ after indigo dye (what’s used to dye blue jeans), and it was really just a dark blue, not the purple/blue color we think of today

The purple house could work really well in the style of those colorful historic beach houses you see in coastal towns. They are usual bright pastels and have a lot of detail.
You guys should build a scout camp where every tent/cabin is one of the kids you’ve built a bedroom for in your builds! ❤❤❤ eg : scout child in your autumn house, that one baby in your upgrading house video that lived outside or the dinosaur children in growing together and so on. I think this would be a great way to reference all you previous builds and a gift to the long time fans!❤❤❤

If there’s room in the backyard, there’s some townhomes that have a shared pool in their backyards so that way the townhomes feel even more connected and have a shared activity together 😊

I think they did one of the apartments in another video in the "gamer girl" type aesthetic, very futuristic and technologically advanced but also slightly minimalistic

It’s been three weeks- where y’all at?
I'm the most excited to see you guys do the purple townhouse! Even though there's not a ton of actually purple items and its just magenta or kind of a wine color, but there are some items with really cute purple swatches, for example I think in Get Famous there's that really expensive furniture set (the same one with the painfully bright fuchsia and zebra print, yea thats the one), it has some really pretty pastel purple swatches that could lean pastel goth if paired with black and white. Also did anyone notice how the 6 across houses are the primary colors and the 5 across houses are the secondary colors? (Sorry, little bit of a color nerd, that's one of the side effects of being an artist :P)

You should do an every room is a different colour challenge but combined with the colouring book challenge! So you picked out all the furniture in white, and then spin, let’s say red, you pick the red swatch!
Loved the red! But orange is one of my favorite colors, and it's actually pretty easy to work with once you realize it's the base for both brown and peach, which look great together. And we can't forget terracotta! My favorite hue is creamsicle orange. 🧡

I totally thought of terracotta for orange, too! it might be unusual to have a terracotta style townhouse, but orangy brown and peach is totally doable in a townhouse style. Honestly would be hyped for an indigo townhouse. It would be bluish purple everywhere and so pretty!
