The Guru is the Philosopher's Stone; by His touch, iron is transformed into gold.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
jotee jot milaai kaaiaa gaR sohiaa raam ||
My light merges into the Light, and my body-fortress is so beautiful.
ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥

My body-fortress is so beautiful; I am fascinated by my God. How could I forget Him, for even a breath, or a morsel of food?

I place my head in offering before the True Guru, if it truly pleases the True Guru.

I can unhesitatingly say that most of the present top grade Raagi Jathas of the Golden Temple cannot perform Shabad Kirtan at par with this Chardhi Kala Raagi Jatha of the USA. Their hold over the Raaga and Baani is very good.

I blame the Sangat and Gurdwar commities for not giving chance to Ragis like there in most Gurdwars .Please listen to Kirit Singh Dhupid he is a convert to Sikhism.

Excellent. My regret that I did not notice this particular
performance earlier although I have been regularly listening to the Chardi Kala
Jatha. One can tell how many hours and days they spent learning and practice gurbani
kirtan in actual raags. We are thankful.

Chann Mam, it is from the Sikh's Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which contains the teachings or 'bani' of the Sikh faith.
