- Dumfries and Galloway Motorhome Road Trip
On our final leg of our 8 day tour of Scotland, we leave our campsite at Culzean Castle and make our way down to Portpatrick to see if we can see Ireland. We then make our way over to a windy stop at the lighthouse on the Mull of Galloway and you get to see how tight and narrow the road up there really is! Before our final stopover at the aire at New England Bay. The facilities here are really up there with french standards. The views are amazing and we even manage our first sea swim of the year...needless to say the wetsuits and a warm cuppa were required!

The last few years have been tough for us all, and after losing both my mum and more recently my grandma (who was not only my adventurous inspiration but also my travel buddy) I've had a real personal struggle with long bouts of depression and anxiety....but those who know me, know what works and that is the traveling and getting out in the fresh air. During this time, I never stopped to consider those perimenopausal symptoms may have also contributed to this, so I've taken the plunge and bought my motorhome Elaine and this is my vlog to capture my journey, through good times, bad and sad times. I'll take you go-karting down a mountain in Snowdonia, on nostalgic visits to our favourite childhood museums, to castles, coasts and historic areas of interest, bodyboarding and biking, something for everyone! I hope to be able to encourage other women to get out there and have a go! Such a shame about the park up being banned now, maybe the campsite didnt like it 😕 Luckily at least Scotland has loads compared to England.
That little shop with the kraken candleholder looked so olde worlde and charming.

I can’t work out if the stopover at New England has been stopped or if it means no camping on the area in front of the loo’s - which I think is supposed to be parking and picnic area. If you look on Google maps, the aire is at the back of this?? Who knows! My sister loves her shopping but loves her wine more 🤣 That’s why we make a good sister team! You want to see what I didn’t record 😂
@@menopausalmotorhomer so many signs are misleading or vague, to the point where you could probably argue against a fine in most cases, and it's probably why a lot of people stay in "banned" places too.
Haha I can imagine, the amount of stuff we're forced to leave on the cutting room floor is ridiculous 😆
