    I don't think people realize how hard it is to dance with a music without a particular beat. She was amazing and her musicality was over the top, like always, hands down.

    • @yamarieortiz278
      @yamarieortiz278 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yet, she lacks emotion. It came out plane. Watch for Tate. That is truly great!

      @charlieleo92 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yamarie Ortiz Yeah I know Tate Mcrae and she is really amazing, but I don't think that Sophia lacks emotion, she just shows her passion without animating her face too much in my opinion. But Tate's facial expressions are truly gorgeous.

      @ Yamarie Ortiz: *plain. And you want emotion? She definitely has it. Watch her duet called "The Path".

      I think they just mean that there is not a lot of entertainment value in the solo. And that’s exactly why competition dancers similar to Sophia, end up retiring or becoming teachers (or ballerinas with all that technique) whereas kids that are trained to entertain and tell a story, like some of the kids from dance moms, go on to entertain potentially millions for the rest of their lives.

      +Tria Lynn Not all dancers want to stick to one style, and why should they have to. Being diverse makes you more employable. Dancing is about passion, not just skill, practice and perfection. Also, she's still very young and has many years ahead of her to refine her talent in a multitude of styles. I think we can all agree her hard work is paying off.

    Love it, totally captivating. Slow yes, but the speed emphasized completely all the flexibility and control Lucia has over every single one of her movements. The speed was perfect imo, and when there would be a fast move added in, it added that little something to make this dance breathtaking.

    So many people are saying that this is a boring solo and that her other solos were more interesting when she was 10-11 I find this unfair on sophia. 1. It's not her fault if you don't like the choreography. 2. She dances this style so well with so much control and artistry. 3. She has grown out of her old style of dance and Grown into this beautiful contemporary that not many can execute with so much grace and fluidity. Yes this is the style of dance that seems like everybody is dancing but I personally think that sophia is by far the best at it. She is such an all round dancer and that's defiantly not a bad thing, so stop hating.

    I am a dancer so I know what it is like to be diverse. It is extremely important that dancers are diverse in all kinds of different styles of dance. Sticking to one style of dance is not going to help. What happens when you go to a workshop and they want you to do hip hop but you only do ballet? It is okay to focus on your style but it is also important to work with other styles as well. Sophia is getting older, so lyrical will not always cut for her. Contemporary is a very mature style of dance which is what she seems to be working on and what all pre teen, teen, and adult dancers should work on. I agree that Sophia is an amazing dancer for her age, along with Kalani, Tate, Brynn, so on and so forth, but no dancer is perfect. That is why all dancers have dance practice!

      Jayde Anna-May I’m not a dancer at all but I’ve watched dancemoms since 2013. 🤣 but Sophia really has a gift. dancemom stans may say she shows no emotions compared to Maddie or kalani but they their dances differ so much. Sophia is able to dance even to this boring music but still leave me speechless. If it was a dancemom dancer they probably wouldn’t be able to dance to this type of music not because they aren’t great dancers but because they are different. But Sophia can pretty much dance to any music out there.

Sure, we know that there ARE better dancers who are just exquisite and lovely to watch, but that doesn’t mean Maddie isn’t great. She’s making certain things her own and that alone at a young age should be applauded. You can appreciate one dancer without bringing down another 🙃

      +jeanne kikolo I'd agree to that Sophia is still the best IMHO but Tate is Perfection. Brynn is a significant step behind these two but makes up for lack of experience with spellbinding grace. Kalani is a very fine dancer but I wouldn't put her in the category with these three - she is a good bit older and should be compared to others in her age.

    • @ashamdahl7159

      +Rea Koukaki I would take this over both wistfull and enter one and I love enter one. Sophia is two years younger and even now is a far better dancer than Kalani IMO. Kalani is a great dancer but Sophia is freakishly exceptional. I've seen many dancers like Kalani all top of their game - I've never seen anyone like Sophia - she is literally a rarity.
